Hosted by Kai Valentine and Maisie Storm, this was both their first experience in radio. Both presenters met at Greenhead College, Huddersfield in 2012 and moved to Lincoln for their undergraduate degrees 2 years later. It was here that Maisie (studying Film and Television) convinced Kai (studying Drama) to join her at student radio station Brayford as her radio co-host. Kai would go on to fall in love with radio, and is now following it as his career path.
After moving to Siren the following year, SquabbleBox would become a regular part of the schedules, and take on various incarnations of midday, weekend and Breakfast programming, but one thing always stayed the same, the presenters and their interactions with the audience.
Each programme put the listener at the centre of the show, whether that be getting their opinions on nostalgic themes, to the ever popular ‘Ask Us Anything’ shows, that could completely derail the broadcast!
Through their 4 years of presenting together, we followed Kai and Maisie’s lives on air, through the good and bad, university life, relationships, families, friends, mental health & fallings out, nothing was ever off limits, and it was this that leaves the whole show with special memories.
