Meet Greg Anderson

With experience accumulated over the course of a 30-year career, Greg W. Anderson has helped thousands of clients achieve financial stability through innovative strategies. Greg is the founder and CEO of Balanced Financial, Inc., a financial services firm headquartered in Fort Collins, Colorado. The firm offers a full selection of client-oriented services, including education, retirement planning, and strategic tax planning. With his help, clients gain financial flexibility, allowing them to capitalize on emerging market opportunities.

Professional History

Greg began his career as a project manager for a large commercial real estate developer in Colorado. As project manager, he was tasked with analyzing the diverse financial aspects of commercial developments. He quickly gained a high level of skill, allowing projects to be completed on time and on budget. From there, Greg was ready to create his own entrepreneurial project, launching Balanced Financial. Now, nearly 30 years later, he has achieved tremendous levels of success in the financial services field.

Certified Estate Advisor (CEA)

In addition to these certifications, he is an active member of the International Association of Financial Planning.

Empowering Others Through Educational Outreach

Education and empowerment are two features of Greg’s professional approach that have helped him stand out in the competitive retirement planning field. He provides a wide range of educational services to clients, particularly for women and for military veterans who may need extra help in securing retirement benefits. Greg can also be found teaching part time, hosting a radio broadcast, and traveling around the country to financial planning seminars as a presenter. When he is not helping others achieve financial freedom, Greg can be found giving his time and effort to the Downtown Club of Fort Collins. He serves as the non-profit organization’s President, and has been instrumental in providing volunteer opportunities, career skills and development programs, and education to the Fort Collins area’s underserved communities.

The Woodbridge Scheme

In December 2017, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed criminal charges against Woodbridge Group of Companies, LLC, along with the Group’s former owner Robert Shapiro. 281 subsidiary companies were also named in the criminal filing. The SEC charges are against Woodbridge and Shapiro for operating a complex “Ponzi scheme” where investors were bilked out of their savings. According to the criminal filing, the fraudulent Woodbridge scheme netted the perpetrators just over $1 billion.

Woodbridge was a luxury real estate development firm based out of California. In the scheme, the Group and its subsidiary affiliates promised investors sizeable returns on their investments – returns that far exceeded financial industry averages. By attracting a steady stream of new investors and their funding, the previous round of investors were paid off. Ultimately, nearly 8500 investors lost some or all of their assets. Bilked investors included both professional financial experts as well as numerous retirees who had invested much or all of their retirement savings.
