As this years Haddenham Rally has come to an successful end, the field is slowly clearing and the rally trailers are packed away, we would all like to take this opportunity to say a massive thanks to all who made the weekend happen.

From the exhibitors, traders, catering, and all behind the scenes, our steam rally would be nothing without all that you do.

Also, our wonderful visitors who come to enjoy all of the hard work, we really appreciate the support which you provide us, year after year.

From all of the rally committee and its helpers, thank you all so much.

We can’t wait to see you again next year to help celebrate our big 5️⃣0️⃣❗️on 6th & 7th September 2025.

We're appealing for witnesses after a collision in Ely left a cyclist with serious injuries.

At about 6.30pm on Saturday (24 August) the cyclist was involved in a collision with a grey car in Lynn Road, heading towards Cambridge Road.

The driver of the car, a white man, initially stopped, but then left the scene without providing his details or reporting what happened.

Paramedics attended the scene and the cyclist, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. He remains in hospital.

Anyone who witnessed what happened, or who has information, should call 101 and ask to speak to Det Sgt Shona Birkby from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.

As part of Heritage Open Days Weekend on 14 & 15 September, a number of free Cathedral tours (Physick Garden, Cathedral Highlights, Octagon Tower, Monastic Buildings)* are taking place on Saturday; and on Sunday there will be a rare opportunity to visit Prior Crauden’s Chapel.

We will also have extended opening hours on Saturday evening and entry will be free between 6.30pm-9pm.

The Stained Glass Museum also has extended opening hours over the weekend - a chance to explore the beautiful gallery filled with over 130 illuminated stained glass windows.
