U.S. SUPREME COURT SAYS STATES CANNOT DISQUALIFY TRUMP FROM BALLOT

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that states cannot disqualify former President Donald Trump from the ballot based on the 14th Amendment's Section 3, overturning a decision by the Colorado Supreme Court.

This decision, which focused on Trump's eligibility following the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack, represents a significant victory for Trump's presidential ambitions. The U.S. Supreme Court clarified that only Congress has the authority to enforce the insurrection clause of the 14th Amendment.

🇬🇩 MEET GRENADA’S NEW PRIME MINISTER

Dickon Amiss Thomas Mitchell has been sworn in as prime minister of the tri-island state of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

Mitchell, 44, was sworn in as the ninth Prime Minister of Grenada by Governor-General Dame Cecile La Gr***de during a ceremony at the Grenada Trade Center this afternoon.

He described the election victory as surreal and nothing short of a miracle.

Mitchell, who is an attorney at law by profession, says the citizens of Grenada have shown that even when larger countries falter, Grenada’s democracy is strong, alive and rests with the people.

In his address, he said one of the main issues he will seek to address as prime minister is Grenada’s electoral process which he says needs to be strengthened and is in dire need of reform.
