“The attorney-client privilege is the bedrock of any attorney-client relationship. Without it, an incarcerated person is substantially frustrated in their ability to pursue post-conviction relief,” attorney Margaret O’Donnell said Monday.

“We are asking the court to declare that the BOP has violated the law by continually opening Mr. Kadamovas’ mail outside of his presence and to order the BOP to stop this illegal practice, so that everyone has a fair shot at seeking post-conviction relief.”

Bureau policy allows staff to inspect all mail entering the facility. But so-called “special mail” — letters and packages clearly identified as attorney-client communication — can only be inspected while the recipient is present.

In 2018, Oregon-based scuba-diver Jared Leisek started cleaning up local rivers and posting videos of the underwater adventures to his YouTube channel, Adventures With Purpose.

The head of an underwater search team told me his divers found human remains under a pile of debris from Carey Mae Parker's destroyed car in Lake Tawakoni.

There's more to be done to confirm it's her but I can't recall ever feeling more optimistic about this or anything.

Thrilled to hear divers are back at Lake Tawakoni but sad I'm not in Texas to see it myself. Needless to say, my thoughts are with Carey Mae Parker's loved ones.
