Last Thursday I got to attend a screening of Food Inc 2 at the Jane Picket Theater which was followed by a panel discussion.

It was a great experience and a reminder on what film can do for you, your neighbors, and your community. Film can inform, make you think and reflect and start conversations that can progress the world.

I am walking 60 miles this month to raise money for the Movember Foundation.

This morning while I was walking I took these pictures of the sunrise. While I was finishing up my walk I started pondering the meaning of these images.

I started to wonder about the men that decided not to be around to see this sunrise. Who were they? Why they chose this day to end it?

How much suffering they were going through to make that decision. How alone they felt. How dark did their life feel.

That is why I walk. Thinking about how dark things can get for some people and that need someone, something, somewhere to go for help. We can’t always tell what people are going through but having enough resources around can and does help.

My girlfriend and I were late to the game, but during the lockdown we binged Schitt's Creek and loved the show.
Once scene that really stuck to me was when David was explaining his sexuality and it was wonderfully written and inspired this piece of art. I wanted to create an image that would try and celebrate the statement made in the show for Pride month.

We should all be able to love who we want. Marry who we want. Start a family or become a part of a family with who we want.
