We don’t urge you to drop everything you’ve been doing to go watch ‘Summertime’ video by Mahaut Mondino, but you might as well do so. First, chances are big it’ll become the soundtrack of you summer, second—you’d be prepared, as the singer’s debut album is set to become one of the hottest music topics in the next few months.
A daughter of famous photographer Jean-Baptiste Mondino and former ELLE France fashion editor Friquette Thévenet-Mondino, Mahaut Mondino was bound to declare her place in the art scene. Her amazing voice found a way to writing original music for brands like L’Oréal, Cacharel, and YSL when she was a teenager and now she’s wooing the tough fashion crowds at Vogue events and is about to release her first album. Since her ‘Voodoo Me’ song premiere on Vice magazine’s noisey.com she launched several music videos, playing with genres and signature mysterious aesthetic.
Since late 2015 Mahaut collaborates with an acclaimed producer Dave Stewart, preparing the debut album “Pardon my French”, set for release this September. The video for the first single “Summertime” came out in hypnotic beats and fun dances of cheerleaders under pouring rain.
It’s safe to say that with her massive vocal range and bold, experimenting attitude both in sound itself and visual representations, Mahaut has grown quite a flock of admirers. Gone are the times of summer end sadness: this September will have a good start for them.

Fashion industry is finally getting the message that old ways won’t do anymore and all the creative energy that pours out with every season’s collection, could be of better use making the sustainable fashion look great. Joyce Wang is Shanghai’s own talent in this area, the young designer who mastered the concept of transforming the old and used into desirable, ready-to-wear clothing.
A Guangzhou Academy of Fine Art graduate established her brand in 2015, quickly becoming a darling of Shanghai runways. When you look at Joyce’s collections, you can see a strong belief behind artsy architect elements, that designer is so fond of using. Gone are the days when green fashion looked boring and Joyce Wang brings a certain playfulness into it, proving that environmental awareness and trendy looks are a match. Her recent collection ‘LESS IS MORE’ first presented at Shanghai Fashion Week, made quite an appearance during Eco Design Fashion as well. Joyce played with up cycling, mix-matching fabrics and patterns to extend the active life of clothes through redesign. In addition, measurements of ‘LESS IS MORE’ items are easily adjusted and materials are made by BUYI minority in Guizhou—everything for each piece to be loved longer.

Raf Simon’s three and a half years as artistic director of Dior has come to an end. A sudden leave, he surprised the fashion world, but he will remain a legend who has shaped Dior for the better. Simon has accomplished a tremendous amount and turned the fashion house into something more contemporary, leading Dior over a 60% rise in sales during his position. Simon’s statement about his leave was one of positivity: “It is a decision based entirely and equally on my desire to focus on other interests in my life, including my own brand, and the passions that drive me outside my work. Christian Dior is an extraordinary company, and it has been an immense privilege to write a few pages of this magnificent book.”
In 2013 the Shanghai branch of the Milano 10 Corso Como opened headed by renowned Chef Corrado Michelazzo. A meeting between creativity, art and style, Michelazzo has turned the kitchen into an artist’s studio where he creates fabulous pieces for the culinary enjoyment of his guests. Having worked in famous restaurants since the age of just sixteen, Michelazzo is no stranger to fine cuisine – several restaurants have been awarded Michelin Stars under his leadership – and he devises his own superb menus.
The focus last night turned away from EXPO 2015 to Shanghai, where Slow Food, an organization aimed at promoting the use of local produce and techniques, held a dinner celebrating its recent foray into China.
