Serenity on Lake Beratan 📷🍃

Lake Beratan sits in the caldera of the ancient Bratan volcano, by the town of Bedugul.

Built in 1633, the lake’s vast temple complex is used for offerings and ceremonies dedicated to the Balinese water, lake and river goddess Dewi Danu.

The importance of the lake is due to the fact it feeds many of the subak irrigation systems of central Bali’s rice fields.
