The first Terrytoon to be Oscar-nominated, though none of them ever won. Looking forward, with the benefit of hindsight, Paul Terry was perhaps without question, and probably without a doubt, the most-misunderstood cartoon producer of all time. Many criticize the quality of his cartoons while overlooking the abundant quantity of his annual releases. While Mintz and Lantz moved to California, the Fleischers moved to Florida, and Pat Sullivan and Van Beuren closed down, Terry stayed in New York, giving jobs to animators, painters, writers, actors, musicians, and other craftsmen, while three Terry alumni, Norman Ferguson, Art Babbitt, and Bill Tytla, all graduated to Disney. Here now is Terry. Watch....remember.....rejoice!
