Virgil plays electronic drums, percussion and synthesizers on his albums, and also plays a variety of acoustic percussion instruments, including bongos, congas and tambourine. rmed the group A Work of Art in 1981, and the industrial group Workdub was founded by Virgil and Nic Georgieff in 1988. Between 1989 and 1995 Workdub released three self-titled albums.

Workdub, electronic music pioneers Nic Georgieff and Virgil Work, Jr., have released 10 new tracks after a 28-year hiatus! Nic has added the pedal steel guitar to the Workdub soundscape which is groundbreaking for the instrument as it takes it outside its usual genres. Nic and Virgil use an array of instrumentation including synthesizers and Virgil's intricate drum and percussion arrangements. The result is an adventurous, diverse, and innovative release from Workdub.
