राया गांव के विशिष्ट सेवा मैडल पूर्व फ़ौजी रत्न चंद शर्मा ने अपनी आयु का किया शतक पूरा।
विजयपुर (30 अप्रैल)। आज के इस रसायनिक युग में यहां हर इंसान अपनी सेहत को लेकर परेशान है वहीं ज़िला साम्बा के राया गांव के विशिष्ट सेवा मैडल पूर्व फ़ौजी रत्न चंद शर्मा ने अपने जीवन के सौ वर्ष पूरे किए। उनके इस शतक पर उनके दोनों बेटों कुलदीप शर्मा व जगदीश शर्मा ने उनका सौंवा जन्मदिन बड़ी धूमधाम से मनाते हुए उनकी लम्बी आयु की कामना करते हुए गांव में प्रीति भोज करवाया जिसमें गांव वालों के साथ साथ रिश्तेदारों ने भी उनकी लंबी व स्वस्थ आयु के लिए कामना की।
रत्न चंद शर्मा ने अपनी सेवा दौरान 1965 में इंडो-चाईना युद्ध भी लड़ा था।
BIS JKBO organized 5th Row of 2-Day Mentors’ Training Programme for Standards Clubs of J&K.
Bureau of Indian Standards is the National Standards Body of India working under the aegis of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.
BIS Jammu & Kashmir Branch Office successfully organized a Two-Day Residential Training Program for Mentors of Standards Clubs of Kendriya Vidyalaya Jammu Province, Kargil & Govt. Polytechnic Poonch on 12-13 April 2023 at its Branch Office. Sh. Tilak Raj, Director and Head, Branch Office stated that children are the future of a strong, vibrant and dynamic nation.
The Mentor acts as the guiding force to get the activities under the standards club in a manner to channelize their creativity and enhance their scientific temperament. It is therefore imperative that the Mentors themselves understand the concepts behind standards and their roles in the quality ecosystem.
With this vision, BIS JKBO conducted the training program in which technical Lectures on Overview of BIS Activities, concepts of quality and standardization at national and international level, types of standardization and Standards, benefits of standardization, Objectives and Guidelines for Standards Clubs, Role and responsibilities of Mentors were delivered by Sh. Pankaj Atri, Scientist-D and Sh. Hitesh Yadav, Scientist-B of BIS JKBO.
During the Residential Training Program, features of BIS Website, Manakonline Portal, Know Your Standards portal for free download of Indian Standards and BIS Care App were demonstrated to the participants with examples followed by classroom/group activity on Standards Writing on a variety of subjects covering different types. The groups of mentors prepared draft standards on subjects given to them and presented to other groups which were deliberated viz-a-viz published Indian Standards on the subjects. The activity was very much appreciated by the mentors as this helped them understand the structure and technicalities.
चैत्र नवरात्र के समापन पर महा नौमी के पर्व पर देश के बाकी हिस्सों की तरह ज़िला साम्बा में इस पवित्र पर्व को बड़े ही धर्मिक श्रद्धा व भक्तिभाव से मनाया गया।
आज के इस पवित्र पर्व पर श्रद्धालुओं ने जिनमें अधिकतर महिलाएं शामिल थीं, नवरात्रों के दौरान अपने घरों में माँ भगवती के नाम की बीजी गयी सांख को बहते जल में प्रवाहित करते हुए घर परिवार के साथ साथ समाज में सुख समृद्धि की कामना की।
आज के इस पर्व पर ज़िले धार्मिक व ऐतिहासिक चीची देवी मंदिर में दिनभर श्रद्धालुओं का तांता लगा rha जिसमें श्रद्धालुओं ने माँ के चरणों में माथा टेक आशीर्वाद प्राप्त किया।
श्रद्धालुओं की सुविधा के लिए बहुत सारे लंगर भी लगाए गए थे व साम्बा ज़िला प्रसाशन द्वारा काफ़ी इंतज़ाम किये गए थे।
हर साल की तरह इस वर्ष भी चैत्र नवरात्र की महा नौमी पर ज़िला साम्बा के पहाड़ी व दूरदराज़ गांव रियोर स्थित बावा गंगन्धर्व देव स्थान पर मगोत्रा ब्राह्मण बरादरी की वार्षिक मेल का आयोजन बड़ी धूमधाम व धर्मिक श्रद्धा से मनाई गई जिसमें जम्मू कश्मीर के अलावा पंजाब व हिमांचल से भी मगोत्रा बरादरी के परिवारों ने बावा जी के मंदिर में माथा टेक आशीर्वाद प्राप्त किया।
इस अवसर पर विशाल भंडारे का भी आयोजन किया गया था।
मंदिर के पुजारी केवल मगोत्रा ने बावा गंगन्धर्व की जीवनी पर चर्चा करते हुए उनके इतिहास व इस स्थान की प्रसिद्धि पर रोशनी डाली।
District Level ENROLLMENT DRIVE 2023 CAMPAIGN INAUGURATED BY WORTHY DIRECTOR SCHOOL EDUCATION, JAMMU AT GHS Ghagwal, Samba
Enrollment Drive campaign for the academic session 2023-24 was formally inaugurated today by the Director School Education Jammu Ravi Shanker Sharma at GHS Ghagwal, Samba. On this occasion, Worthy Joint Director DSEJ H.R Pakhroo, Chief Education Officer, Samba Kewal Krishan Principals of various Higher Secondary schools, Headmasters of High schools, Teachers, officials from School Education Department along with a large number of parents and students were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Worthy Director School Education Jammu Sh. Ravi Shankar Sharma highlighted the various schemes for the benefit of students of Govt. Schools like Midday Meal Scheme, Cultural participation, Guidance and Counselling, Scholarships. He flagged off the rally from the school premises in which various officials, teachers, students and their parents took part. He said that the enrollment Drive will be conducted by all HOIs in all the govt. schools in all districts of Jammu Province.
Chief Education Officer , Samba. Sh. Kewal Krishan said that enrollment Drive will certainly make the general public aware of the various benefits being provided to the students of govt schools and will increase confidence of the common masses in Govt. Schools.

Mega Job Fair organized in Samba
Youths from across the samba district today participated enthusiastally in Mega Job Fair under the banner of Mission Youth J&K for revitalization of Youth Clubs organized at DC office Samba.
The progamme was organized by Mission Youth Department of Employment and career counseling Samba in collaboration with information dept and social welfare Samba.
Under the initiative of District Administration Samba Aarohan vibrant youth vibrant Samba,
youths interacted with private companies, Industrialists, manufacturers for new job openings as well as sought varied self employment avenues as start ups from the different stalls installed on the ocassion.
More 15 private companies like Jio, SBI, Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, Cycle works, Life insurance Co.s etc shortlisted more than 100 candidates for various posts participated on the ocassion.
Self employment schemes of different departments were also provided by various line departments during the programme.
On the ocassion 06 vehicles were also distributed among beneficiaries by Deputy Commissioner Samba under the Mumkin scheme as a self employment opportunity.
Among others Addc Rajinder Singh, ADC Rakesh dubey, PO Icds Joginder Jasrotia, DSWO, DIO, AD Employment, AD Handicrafts and others including recuritment companies HR, line departments heads and youths of samba were also present.
Concerned about the health of the citizens of different regions of the country, under the scheme of the Government of India, instructions have been received to organize free medical camps for the needy and medically helpless people and distribute medicines free of cost. Accordingly, the Inspector General of Police Central Reserve Police Under the guidance of Jammu Sector, Deputy Inspector General of Police Jammu Range and Commandant-38 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force, today on 21/03/2023, 38 Battalion CRPF organized a free medical camp under Civic Action program at Vill- Sarian, Block and Post Nud , district samba was organized. Which was inaugurated by Chief Guest Mr. Dhirendra Verma, Commandant-38 Battalion's Crpf . During the camp Health check-up of the local people of the village was done free of cost by the unit doctor with the help of local doctors and medicines related to diseases were distributed free of cost. The physically challenged and physically challenged people were seen being provided physical support by the CRPF personnel. Which shows a human face of the CRPF force. Sarpanch Surendra Singh of the village and the local people, police personnel and the local population wholeheartedly appreciated this medical camp organized by the 38 battalion and in the coming times Urged to organize such camps so that those needy and helpless people who are unable to reach hospitals for medical treatment and cannot buy medicines due to poverty can be helped sincerely. In this camp, doctors of eye, bone, gynecology and general surgeons from different areas examined the local people and gave advice and some people were also referred to higher hospitals for better treatment.

School of Biotechnology, SMVDU Celebrated World Water Day 2023 at Mansar.
Mansar Lake, a world renowned Ramsar Site is home to aquatic and avian bio diversity. World Water Day is celebrated each year to raise awareness about the precious water and inspire action to tackle the water scarcity and resultant environment crisis. The event focuses on raising awareness and taking action to tackle the global water crisis faced by a billions of people living without access to water for drinking, irrigation and livelihoods.
The event started with the keynote lecture by Prof. Ravindra Kumar Sinha Padamshree and Vice Chancellor of SMVDU. Prof Sinha emphasized the need for taking firm steps to stop water pollution including setting up of Sewage treatment plants for urban areas and effluent treatment plants for industrial units. " Our holy rivers and lakes are under severe pressure due to effluents, heavy metals, micro plastic and sewage and we need to mitigate the ill effects of water pollution" he said. He spoke at length about the cultural, religious and spritual significance of Mansar and its importance in providing drinking water, micro irrigation, nutrient exchange, recharging of aquifers and biodiversity preservation. " we need to have Lake Management plan for Surinsar and Mansar lakes so as to have sustainable eco- friendly tourism.
Head School of Biotechnology, Dr. Ratna Chandra highlighted the importance of sacred water bodies like Surinsar - Mansar lakes in sustaining livelihoods and educating students about environment. She stressed the need for more such field visits to aware the students.
Kirpal Singh, Heritage expert spoke about the importance of water bodies in Jammu region and their significance in Dogra culture. " Our bawlis, Step wells, sacred river sites ( Bheds ), Springs ( Nags ) ,Naga temples, folklore, legends and traditions are closely associated with Dogras respect for water bodies " he said.

CUJ Organised a lecture on The Forgotten Kashmir: “The Other Side of the Line of Control”
The Department of National Security Studies, Central University of Jammu (CUJ) in collaboration with Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), External Publicity and Public Diplomacy Division organised a Distinguished Lecture Series on “The Forgotten Kashmir”: The Other Side of the Line of Control at Brig. Rajendra Singh Auditorium, Central University of Jammu, Samba.
In which Amb. (Retd.) Dinkar P. Srivastava, author of the book, while delivering the lecture highlighted the evolution of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and various agreements entered by India and Pakistan. He also talked about POJK interim constitution and judicial interventions. He stressed that Pakistan have not shown the reality of Kashmir and POJK infront of the world. They only show behind the reality of POJK and Kashmir.
Amb. (Retd) G. Parthasarthy presented his views on the book and the dynamics relations between India and Pakistan. He also made mention of India’s project in Afganistan which were developmental and peace oriented while discussing relation about Afganistan and Pakistan. He also highlighted India’s approach towards Pakistan.
Dr. J. Jeganaathan, Head, Dept. of NSS (National Security Studies), presented a formal welcome address and the vote of thanks was given by Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar, CUJ, who along with Dr. Neeta and Dr. R.Sudhakar organised the lecture.
Visit of Commissioner Secy RDD and Panchayati Raj Mandeep Kour in Samba
In order to review the progress of developmental works in block Bari Brahmana of district Samba, Commissioner Secy Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj today visited and took stock of the works which were completed as well as the ongoing on the ground under Rural Development Department.
Firstly, Mandeep Kour visited at Birpur Upper Panchayat where she inaugurated Newly Constructed Panchayat Ghar Birpur Upper in presence of DDC Member Asha Rani, BDC Member Rajani Devi, Sarpanch Veena Jamwal and other panches of the concerned panchayat. After the inauguration, Mandeep Kour listened problems of the PRI’s and locals related RDD where the PRI’s and Locals thanked government for providing them Panchayat Ghar.
Later, Mandeep Kour visited Palli Panchayat where she took stock of the newly established “Smriti Kaksh” along with sarpanch Randhir Sharma in which the Photographs and other memorable items are installed alongwith the statue of PM Narendera Modi. Mandeep Kour also took more information’s about “Nokia Smartpur” which is a device like computer in which every memorable stories are uploaded during PM Modi’s Palli visit.
