Ukrainian Shorts: Films and Talks

Please join us for an upcoming event, Ukrainian Shorts: Films and Talks, this Friday, 24 February, 2-5 pm, in StAge (Student Union).

Join us for Ukrainian short films and creative readings, dedicated to the power of art in the face of war. The event will mark one year of Ukrainian resistance in the face of the unprovoked and brutal escalation of a 9-year war. It has been the longest and the most painful year in the lives of many of our students and staff from Ukraine, and we would like to commemorate and acknowledge this unimaginably terrifying experience, but also oppose it with the positive and life-affirming energy of Ukrainian artistic imagination.

The screenings will include short films by the established and emerging Ukrainian talent, including Freefilmers collective from the city of Mariupol, whose resolve and creativity is shaping the new Ukrainian culture. We will also have a photo exhibition prepared by our students and short readings by St Andrews authors from Ukraine.

Come and join us to show support and learn more about the culture of resistance through art.

This event is free, no registration needed.
