 3 weeks into going to the gym and eating healthy, BAM, you stop.⁣

And then you say…⁣

“WHY can’t I just stick with this”⁣
“This is hard”⁣
“Why is this easier for other people”⁣
“What is wrong with me?”⁣

It’s not you⁣
It’s what diet culture has made you believe…⁣

➡️ That, unless you’re ALL IN, eating perfectly⁣

Drinking a gallon of water a day⁣

Spending an hour to and hour and a half in the gym 7 days a week⁣

Nutrition ON POINT, 100%, 7 days a week⁣

You can’t possibly be successful in losing weight⁣

👉🏻 That’s not true. The only difference between that person who you see as being successful (thinking that it’s easier for them than it is for you)…it’s because they are just DOING. And they are consistent ONLY because they’ve learned that they DON’T need yo be perfect to see really great change⁣

How would it feel if you discovered that for yourself?⁣

How would things change for you if you just chose to do something that didn’t require you to be PERFECT?

This quote immediately came to mind yesterday when I saw a couple of women making nasty comments here, on Facebook, towards another woman. And what REALLY frustrated me was the complete lack of empathy after the woman (who, although she maybe didn’t make the best decision) made the comment that she suffered from depression. These women kept hammering away 💔

Two things…

☝🏻I know that no one is perfect…I CERTAINLY am not. But, I really wish that we’d learn to work on TRYING to be less judgmental.

✌🏻Have you ever seen “The Blind Side?” One of my FAVORITE scenes in that movie is when Sandra Bullock’s character (Leigh Anne Tuoghy) is sitting across from Michael’s mom (a drug addict). She asks her if she wants to see Michael. Michael’s mom, with tears rolling down her face says, “No. Not like this.” Leigh Anne gets up, you can see the compassion and ZERO judgement on her face, and she sits next to Michael’s mom.

That scene brings tears 😭 to my eyes every time.

That would NOT have been my reaction for the majority of my life.

However, THAT is the type of person that I strive to be.

If we could ONLY just try to be SLIGHTLY like Leigh Anne Tuoghy, the world wouldn’t be such a hard place ♥️

That “getting on the elliptical for 45 minutes and then strength training for another 30 minutes” was it for me.

When you have a workout routine that isn’t boring, that feels like you’ve only been working out for 10 minutes (but it’s been 30) and that has variety, it’s so much easier to keep going 🫶🏻

Are you like me - usually not as present, taking all the pictures?⁣

I’ve been working on trying to be more in the moment (and it doesn’t normally work too well…sometimes I’m 🐿 🧠) but it did last night…because we were at the end of our Haunted Wagon Ride, and I was like WAIT! I didn’t take one picture or video! 🤣

Do you ever stop working out because you get bored?⁣

If you REALLY think about that, I think you’ll find that that is one reason why you stop (because it’s true for A LOT of people).⁣

One of my biggest tips that I can give you is⁣
👉🏻DO what helps YOU to keep going⁣

Example? If you’re that person who can (and loves) to walk for or bike FOREVER DO THAT.⁣

If you’re like me, and your brain 🧠 CANNOT handle doing the SAME MONOTONOUS THING OVER AND OVER…choose something that will give you variety…that allows you to change things up⁣

We ALL know that the key is consistency…and the key 🔑 to getting consistent is awareness…meeting yourself where YOU are…being intentional about what TRULY works for you 💕
