"I decided around the age of 12 that a career in broadcasting and public performance was right for me. By the age of 15 I had made my first broadcasts on Hull's Viking Radio and Classic Gold. By age 21 after cutting my teeth on the university radio station in Leeds, I was part of the full-time team on Bauer Media's Radio Aire and Magic, presenting peak-time shows to the city and helping to take the radio station to Number One for the first time in its history, which was a proud and humbling moment. My career has taken me to Capital Radio's Red Dragon in Cardiff, Capital Gold and Century, Birmingham's BRMB and Heart, Guardian Media's Real Radio plus a stint on Smooth Radio in Newcastle and Manchester.
"Becoming a high school teacher, a teacher-trainer and an Assistant Principal was a logical step to take. The similarity between broadcasting and teaching is remarkable! Radio remains a passion, having set up the school's very own radio station to help train tomorrow's broadcasters at EMC Student Radio, broadcasting online 24/7, many of whom now work in commercial radio across the UK.
