We're so excited to see Mayflower II return home this afternoon! The much-loved ship first arrived in Plymouth on June 13, 1957. The very next day, the Spooner House on North Street opened for its first summer as a public museum. The women of the Plymouth Antiquarian Society bravely took on the colossal task of repairing this historic 18th-century home with only limited resources after the death of its last resident, James Spooner. We salute the dedication of all those who work to preserve the buildings, landscapes, and (in Plimoth Plantation's case) ships of the past!
