INTERVIEW: To celebrate today's reissue of his 35-year-old group JACKDAWG, singer, multi-instrumentalist, and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member JOHN McFEE engages in a wide-ranging discussion with Paul Cashmere at Noise11. John recalls how his band Clover arrived in the UK in 1977 right as punk & new wave was taking off, and how Clover super fan NICK LOWE secured the band to back ELVIS COSTELLO on his 'My Aim Is True' album, followed by John playing on Lowe's 'Jesus of Cool' LP. PLUS, John discusses the origins of his country rock band SOUTHERN PACIFIC (which led to Jackdawg) and his current main gig (since 1980) as a member of THE DOOBIE BROTHERS.
But wait, there's more! VAN MORRISON, JANIS IAN, HUEY LEWIS & THE NEWS, STIFF RECORDS... there really should be a rock doc about John!
Doobie Brothers legend John McFee talks with Paul Cashmere about rediscovering Jackdawg — the long-lost project with Stu Cook and Keith Knudsen — and reflects on his incredible journey playing with Elvis Costello, Van Morrison and more. Watch the full Noise11 interview now.
