Ballard's Paityn Noe after becoming the first high school girl in Iowa history to run a 5-kilometer time in under 17 minutes during the second day of the state co-ed cross country meet Saturday at the Lakeside Muncicipal Golf Course at Kennedy Park in Fort Dodge. Noe ran a 16:48.57 to shatter her own record time of 17:09.8 and the previous state mark of 17:23.9 and repeat as 3A state champion. Noe helped the Ballard girls take second as a team in 3A for the second year in a row after winning back-to-back titles in 2019 and 2020.

Two of the best girls XC runners in Iowa history run together Friday at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minnesota.

Ballard's Paityn Noe and Valley's Addison Dorenkamp have dominated girls cross country in 2022. They both compete at the Griak Invite this Friday.
