Ballard's Paityn Noe after becoming the first high school girl in Iowa history to run a 5-kilometer time in under 17 minutes during the second day of the state co-ed cross country meet Saturday at the Lakeside Muncicipal Golf Course at Kennedy Park in Fort Dodge. Noe ran a 16:48.57 to shatter her own record time of 17:09.8 and the previous state mark of 17:23.9 and repeat as 3A state champion. Noe helped the Ballard girls take second as a team in 3A for the second year in a row after winning back-to-back titles in 2019 and 2020.
