Happy Yorkshire Day

I’ve been fortunate enough to be born in Yorkshire and spent a huge chunk of my child and adulthood in North Yorkshire. It’s shaped me into the man I am today.

Old fashioned, real & strong to my word.

This is the Cathouse where I spent 4 years figuring who I was as a person, how to cope with what life brings… Whether that be mice, warmth or dreams. This was an outbuilding on the farm where the farm cats used to live in which I converted to fit my needs.

One bed, One Sofa, One desk, One type write, One Radio, One guitar, One out of tune upright piano & a few candles.

My neighbours of which you can’t see in this photo which were on the right hand side just out of the frame were the Hens. All named after The Beatles:

Paul Mccaaaaaartney, Ringo (red), George & John Hennon which of course was the Cockerel. It’d be time for me to hit the hey when I heard them in the early hours getting ready for their day.

Everyday felt like a blessing

I’m eternally grateful for the lessons you’ve taught me Yorkshire. 🗺️

Shed Seven are hitting it hard in the charts looking like they’re going to land their first number one album in 30 years.

The album artwork was shot front to back by yours truly over a trip to Spain at Youth Glovers studio Space Mountain where the album was recorded & produced. The whole time while I was there I was sort of thinking what could be a cool front cover shot in the back of my head. Inspired by the music, energy and the Grenadan remote landscape. There was lots to go off. There was an opportunity to go into the local town with Youth. I hopped in the car as it’s always good to get out and about and get immersive in every aspect. I grabbed a few news papers from an old Spanish village news agents because to me that’s what represented the music. It’s been a journey of immense ups and downs and you could really feel that listening to the music.

Between F.K.H & Starlings it’s really been a hell of a ride that the band have been through so that’s why I had the idea of a burning news paper. We only had 4 takes as we only had 4 papers. Rick wasn’t afraid of the flames which showed how dedicated he was to the album. Mr Scruff definitely played on the bands heart strings while in the studio so it made sense for him to get involved too. I could go into more depth about this photo and will further down the line.

A week or two passed by and Paul mentioned that it could be a possibility of being the front cover. But in the music industry there’s so many ups and downs so I didn’t want to get my hopes up as I hate being disappointed. I’m extremely happy now to see it thriving on the shelves and in homes all over the world.

This record means so much to them we’re all hoping there’s a numero uno at the end of the rainbow. This will be my second number one album cover and I feel like there could be many more in the coming years. I’m just putting that out into the universe📡

Thrilled to announce that this January I will be doing a studio residency in Manchester 📍

Excited to be back here in Jan to continue on the rebrand of the bands, artists and creatives from the heart of the city

It’s such an important time of the year creatively for artists as we’ve had the winter months to gauge where we are and how we set sail for the next season commencing.

Excited to have some beautiful bands and people lined up already. Grateful to be representing the next wave

It comes to my attention that it’s national Yorkshire day. I don’t usually get involved in things like this online but as I’ve been doing some soul searching over the past few years to figure out what my purpose is I have learned how much my environment and what surrounds is an extremely integral part of my life.

The realness, culture and tenacity is something I will always have in my toolbox.

I have lived all over the country in stone huts, campervans and concrete shoe boxes but yorkshire always feels like home.
