awi celebrating a plastic-free July. We are highlighting individuals this month that contribute to spreading awareness for a greener earth.

A mother of two and a beginner at sustainable living. Trying to add one Sustainable habit into her life at a time. Loves working on Composting. Enjoys spreading awareness & motivating more people to start Composting, using/making Bio Enzyme, Segregate Waste, integrate Reusables into their lives. Partnering with local Municipality, NGOs, Daily Dump to streamline Waste management in each home and make it a Ruling. In Progress Ecopreneur to reach bigger masses. Day 8 of
Today's : Peacock Green

Ashtami pujan today. Era was having gifts & chana puris pouring in from all Dadi's in our complex. This year she understood & agreed to accept the gifts. Her only complaint was : Why no gifts for my Dada ? Thankfully a few aunties also sent similar gifts for Pranav. So Era felt better & let Dada check her gifts.

Era was asked to wear Festive wear in school & later in evening class too. This Chanya choli from was perfect, soft, elegant, dance conducive. Apart from an hour she wore it full day & danced in it all day.

Meanwhile I was trying to make Pranav focus on his exam studies along with all errands to run. Must have done 6-7 drives of hardly 1km in our locality.
Today we offer Kadakne to our ghat. Its puri & items of shringar for the devi. Check second pic to see all items made from flour. Example: comb, mirror, supari, haldi kumkum etc.
It denotes the devi is ready to leave so we gift her useful things.

Day 7 of
Today's : Orange 🧡

I didn't have anything in Orange to dress up in today. So here is the orange color which makes me happy these days 🤣
Guessed it right. Citrus Bioenzyme followed by Brown Compost.
My kids planned their outfits and packed them for weekend stay at Nani house. It was a good change for them, my parents & especially my inlaws+ me.

In the Weekend task never ending list, I ticked off this pending task of Harvesting these Experiments in I took up pre Ganpati festival. Collecting citrus fruit peels from cafes. Collecting Marigold flowers & neem leaves from Pooja flowers & garlands. Made batches of each of these items.
Marigold & Neem Bioenzyme was first attempt. In the first week the Neem Bioenzyme smelled lovely. But today it was 😵‍💫
Marigold Bioenzyme this was the 2nd batch I harvested in these few weeks. 1 container of 4ltrs Marigold Bioenzyme I shared with our society garden. Today's batch I plan to use for our own garden. Im sure all our plants must be fed up of the variety of we keep giving every few days.

Went to meet my book club gang of friends & shared the Neem Bioenzyme samples with them. The bottles collected since Ganpati festival for such sample distribution came handy today. 1bottle was of Mouth wash & contained Neem Bioenzyme. We were ROFL imagining if that friend's hubby tries to use this said Mouth wash 🥴
We vented out, laughed out loud, pepped each other up, gave motivational lectures to each other (more of me to them. Nili-ma have a reputation to keep up 🤣) Even after 4hrs & 4cups of chai+snacks we still have lots more to share. Love these non judgemental meetups. No photos to show sadly. Of us or the food. We were too engrossed in talking.

On the lines of motivational messages I came home to see our 2nd Brahma Kamal of this season had bloomed. Sure sign of Many Happy events are happening everywhere.

I could do this super productive weekend thanks to my babysitting team comprising my parents & sister Apart from my constant powerful support system : inlaws. I always thank god for these Souls around me. Bless each of them ❤️

Day 6 of
Today's color: Grey 🤍

Weekend is here & each time I have loads of tasks to do. Many are my favourite & few are compulsory so have to complete them.

Today's day went like this:
-Dry Waste collection Organisation & coordination for my society
-Working with maali kaka(gardener) to mix few semi done compost bins in a bigger bin. So that I get more bins to Compost.
-Stirring the Garden waste DIY composter we have made. Few more gardening & organising tasks.
-Yoga session. Helped me feel calm & centred. Helped a lot navigate my hectic day later.
-Arrange gifting option for baby shower of one of my SIL.
-Travel 2hrs for Baby shower along with 3 of my MILs. Celebrate with family. Travel back.
-My parents & sister were baby sitting the kids so could do this Mumbai darshan trip.
-Went to play Garba with the kids in our area's clubhouse. Kids were excited to see me there. Danced with kids and
-Came back home. Had dinner. Random tasks.
-Shot a few clips for making reels 🤞😀at 1am in night.

Tomorrow more tasks listed along with exam studies & getting ready for next week of school.

Today's theme is to Forgive ourselves and all others. Be kind to ourselves.

Day 5 of
Color of : Green 💚

I had difficulty finding a green outfit for today. Same with kids. But we managed with tin, tome, shades of green. 😂

Accepting this also is a learning. Era & me are reminding ourselves to buy clothes of different colors each time we shop. Hope we remember & dont go the usual color appealing purchases. Blue in my case, pink in hers. Pranav's favourite colour is Green but its very difficult to find clothes in Green for him. We can find tonnes in black, blue, grey, even red but no green, orange, purple etc 🤐
So I consciously look for bright cheerful colours for him..

We had a great day today. Many tasks done today. Attending full week of school for Era who misses atleast a day or not more thanks to the cold, cough season & sudden rise in HFMD cases. So we congratulated her 😜

Got darshan of neighbour's Golu setup 🙏
Long discussions with friends who are far & sisters. Weekend planned for catching up with more friends.
I accept each one as they are. Everyone accepts me as I am. This affirmation each day seems perfect when we have such deep conversations.

Looking at our garden I was searching for Green symbols. This Alu plant & Birds nest are MIL & my favourites respectively. Each grows abundantly in the place it is planted. No expectations. Just firm belief in oneself.

Day 4 of
Today's : Yellow 💛

Bright Sunny day today. A lil hot too. Made it a point to be Cheerful as our outfit today. Forgive & love ourselves first.
It was pleasant to see shades of bright yellow in the crowds today. Like 🌞 in ☁️🌧️ sky.

The rains have stopped and our garden is slowly standing up strong & sprouting new leaves & flowers. Time to add compost & Bioenzyme to give the added boost. The Kardai flower & plant is a strong garden plant but not seen much in public parks these days. Our Moss Rose's have let out a sigh after being pelted down by strong rains. Now since two days they are flowering with a zeal.

I made it a point to click a solo pic & share this post before EOD. Not all plans work. Thats ok. Kids joined in for a pic which took dozen shots. We had an overall good day. Our family in USA is following the Colors on Era's orders 😀

Dinner had two types of sweets. Last pic is Dhondas or Indian Cake made from organic cucumbers. These are long Cucumbers or Kakdi in Marathi which we offer Ganpati on first day & is kept till end. My inlaws love it & MIL bakes it each year for my hubby's birthday which usually is after Ganpati festival. Today FIL tried his hand with a different recipe. Tasted good. Rava, Jaggery & loads of Ghee.

What cheerful thing did you do today?
I scolded a few bikers for blocking the road by parking in wrong places and driving in wrong direction during school pickup. Was applauded by fellow parents & four wheeler drivers who were stuck in the jam. 🙆🤦🤭

Day 3 of
Color of the day : Royal Blue 💙

I have no dearth of Blue in my wardrobe. Blame it on my name Nili-ma 🙏😂

Yesterday night I knew I didn't have to keep an outfit ready. Just have too many. Few years ago I had set a challenge with myself of including every color in my wardrobe except blue. Worked for few months 🙆 This short kurta is from . I love it & hope they add more such kurtas to their collection.

2nd mala of Marigold flowers was added today. Didn't get to see it till EOD 🤐

If yesterday was a super productive day today was a messed up day or so I feel coz of the heavy guilt feelings. Have been very late in every activity of the day this entire week. Feels like Im trying to catch up with everything while juggling many more things. So end up dropping a few on this marathon.

Time to pause, reflect, plan, reorganize, repeat till it becomes a habit. Its good gyaan to give but hard to follow. This past year I have realised its all about Mind conditioning & making something a habit for it to be consistent. So lets get back on track. Dress up, show up, put in the work(even if late) and rest.

Day 2 of
Today's color: Red ❤️
I had a packed day planned today so was clear I wanted to wear something Comfortable yet Formal. I choose this 2 layered cotton top from .
Reminded myself to click a pic before starting the day. When you have plans set or your schedule ready its easier to navigate a hectic day & still take breaks to enjoy the day.

Super happy that I ticked off almost all tasks on my list & few extra pleasant ones too. Though I was late for school pick & drops today & my own class.

Today onwards we add Marigold mala to the Ghat. Helped MIL with it. Went & bought more flowers for us & my mom too. You can guess what my next week's plans are 🤭
Tried my best in fitness class with . Sweated bucket loads & now my legs are in various stages of Jelly, rocks, logs, steel rods etc

My mom helped me by chopping the citrus peels to make Bioenzyme which is pending since Sunday. Era & me made 24ltrs of Citrus Bioenzyme 🤩. Went & celebrated my SIL's birthday & spent time with her 18day old lil squishy.

Era was also dressed in Red. She reminded all ladies in the house to wear Red. My sis in USA is following orders.
Tomorrow is Blue, remember 😂

Birthday celebrations

How do you define a Birthday? What does Birthday mean to you?
I asked these questions to myself few days ago & then asked my daughter the same 3days ago. Her simple answer was "Enjoying with your family, cutting cake, receiving gifts .. bus"
Life should be lived simply like this. I remind myself this every few days. No point going philosophical or overthinking.

We celebrated Sunil's birthday like every year. 25th September. He liked it Simple.
Wishing him Happy Birthday in the morning. Baking his favourite Eggwala Simple Sponge Cake. Eating our favourite foods. Catching up with family & friends.
This year it was a Sunday so more family members joined in. Pranav Era enjoyed the cake to the last piece. Reminder to restart baking again.

Yummy chocolate bundt cake made by SIL. Nephews loved it too. My sister made a slideshow of his pics & it brought alive many more memories.

Sunil was an animal lover or animal magnet more. Both kids especially Pranav has inherited that love deeply. I have been helping an animal care organisation this past year. So we donated food for all the animals in Sunil's memory.
Im sure he will give me an earful for that. 😀

I went for a meditation session. Loved it. Packed & distributed cake with his & my friends. My way of talking/remembering/including him in our Celebrations. Out of the blue got to eat Gurukrupa Samosas. Radio plays our favourite song on a drive at midnight. Signs he sends about knowing what we need.

Hope these kids & us cherish these for lifetime. Like my MIL says, " These acts will help them when they hit lows in their lives. They will remember these & bounce back. Keep doing it".

Day 1 of Navratri. Color : White

Firstly Happy Navratri !

This year the excitement of celebrating Navratri can be felt everywhere. Cant blame people for enjoying themselves after 2 years.

I had done this post series 2yrs back with my kids and enjoyed it a lot. Got a great response too. Today remembered that in evening. So went around the garden looking for white flowers. Found many. These are a few (were easily clickable).

We have Ghat Sthapana today. Helped MIL with it. Realised that my look today was really good in morning. Got compliments too from a friend & family first thing in morning. Last pic clicked at EOD is proof that when you push yourself to show up for yourself consistently the results are amazing. My fitness sessions with & spiritual practices are really helping a lot in many departments of life. Need to push myself more. Breaks are good when you have Worked.
