“Y’all know me. Know how I earn a livin’.” – Quint (JAWS, 1975) I had an experience this evening that I’ve heard echoed via social media for years, but I’ve not had the chance to experience in person yet. I want to share with you my experience, and then elaborate a bit on how we got he...

It's been an interesting year so far, and I'm still processing everything.

My first book Behind the Scenes of Indie Film Marketing comes out in a couple of weeks. It's being published by Routledge/Focal Press.

My second book, a deep dive into A Nightmare on Elm Street was pitched to and approved by my new publisher (DieDie Books) whom I met at a local film festival. This book is due May 2025.

My THIRD book is being published by CRC Press, an imprint from Taylor & Francis (who published my first book) and is going to be about using TTRPG mechanics to aid storytelling and script development, was approved way faster than I expected. The contract is signed, and my first draft deadline is at the end of the year.

I'll be working on getting the book into local indie bookstores across the US, but if you know of a bookstore that we should hit up, please let me know so I can contact them!

This book provides current and incoming filmmakers with a comprehensive overview of how to create business and marketing plans to prepare their movies for distribution. Nicholas LaRue combines experienced insights into aesthetics and creativity with logical data-driven conclusions to provide an a**l...

There’s a lot to love about this short giallo-inspired horror film. I had the occasion to check out BATH BOMB as part of a shorts block at the most recent Panic Fest Film Festival and was so delightfully disgusted and disturbed. BATH BOMB, directed by Colin G. Cooper and written by Cooper and Mich...

THE CHAIN, directed by Tom Hipp and written by Tom and Kate Hipp has an interesting conceit in that it’s set in a world where werewolves are endemic encountered often enough for the government to have issued “chains” to the citizenry to help protect them against accidental deaths from folks bi...

Directed by Sofie Somoroff and starring a limited cast with the highlight being Celina Bernstein as our terrorized heroine. RIDE BABY RIDE is a short film that is more than the 7-minute runtime would have you believe. If you’re a fan of 80’s style horror akin to CHRISTINE (the most obvious compa...

You know what to do!

A wandering mystic has extraordinary good luck, and so does anyone within 75 feet of him. Hoping to exploit his power, 3 women kidnap him. That story is a metaphor for how so many of the stories we tell about our lives are fictions, but underneath that, we have a shared humanity.
