It was brought to our attention that once again there is a phone scam in our County where the scammers are identifying themselves as Deputy Sheriffs from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. They are now using actual names, titles, and ranks of actual Monroe County Deputy Sheriffs. One of the phone numbers they are using is 570-517-3312. Unfortunately it is not difficult for scammers to make the caller ID number look legitimate. The scammers are saying that the citizen has outstanding fines, demands the citizen stays on the phone and states they will be arrested if they hang up.

Please note: THE MONROE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE DOES NOT MAKE PHONE CALLS ABOUT SUCH MATTERS, NOR DO WE SOLICIT MONEY.

If anyone receives a call from that number and the caller requests any form of payment or personal information, such as a social security number, you should hang up and call your local municipal police department or State Police barracks to file a report.

Just an FYI, I will not be at the West End Fair today (08/23/2023) by the West End Food Pantry Food Stand with the 25% off Boscov's Friends Helping Friends Shopping Pass for a $5.00 Donation to the West End Food Pantry due to Extreme Hip & Leg Pain. If you go to the fair today you can ask at the West End Food Pantry Stand and someone can get you a Pass or Passes if you want more than one. NOTICE: The West End Fair is coming up quickly and we wanted to let everyone know that for most of Fair week, myself (Scott) and Matt will be working at the Fair. Internet access is spotty so we are not sure if we will be able to post while we both are at the Fair.

I will be working at the West End Food Pantry Stand located between the Kresge Building & the Main Exhibit Building just behind the Bandshell at a table with the Boscov's 25% off Shopping Passes that can be used at any Boscov's on October 18th, 2023 for a $5.00 Donation to the West End Food Pantry. Pick up several and give them to your friends & family.

So please stop by and don't forget to get some great food at the West End Food Pantry stand, your food order feeds Twice, you of course when you eat it and again when the West End Food Pantry uses the profits from the Food Stand to buy food for their 2 Distribution days a month.

Matt will be working with the Animals so be sure to stop by and say Hello to him also.
