For a long time, I have been wanting to share some of the scrumptious recipes from the Nordic region that I have grown up with and which I love to cook. These recordings, is a homage to my wonderful Mum, who is a self-taught professional cook extraordinaire, and whom I can only hope to cook somewhat as well as. It is therefore also a humble appreciation for the many generations where this type of
food and way of cooking has been passed down through. With the beautiful food that originates from the Nordic region comes a natural appreciation for where and how the produce has been sourced. This is a mindset, which has been traced back thousands of years and could use a revival into our modern day of life, as it compliments and enhances a busy lifestyle well. At its core, cooking the Nordic way it is about simplicity, freshness, availability and creating food with a spark in your eye. This is therefore a blog and website that will provide mostly simple and robust dishes that does not "crumble" under the pressure of exact measurements, temperatures and can mostly take ingredients substitutions easily. Anyone can be a Global Viking but remember cooking like a Viking needs to be done with spirit and a good sense of humour! Let the journey begin. Smooth sailings fellow Vikings.
