Authentic Automation - How to Approach Email Marketing in 2022 with Bev Feldman
In a world where 95% of emails feel robotic and impersonal, is it possible to come across like a human?
Is there a way to automate email and still sound like your genuine self?
There are certain ways we’re all taught to market our businesses.
At some point, we’re just seeing everyone do the same thing.
But what if you took a different approach to email marketing?
What if you junk those generic strategies?
What if you could use email automation and deliver your message authentically?
To Bev Feldman - Your Personal Tech Fairy, the key is to have a human-focused connection to your audience.
On the Go-to Gal podcast, we dove into this idea of creating connection through email automation and her strategies for creating this kind of experience with your audience.
But before you go listen on your podcast player, I want to leave you with this little unmissable tidbit.
→ Write your automated emails in a way that invites people to actually respond ←
When someone sends you a reply, you get that powerful positive connection and have the opportunity to show who you are firsthand. There’s no way to automate that!
Intrigued by what connection you can still find through email automation? Listen to this episode of the Go-to Gal podcast and create that connection for yourself and your audience!
P.S. Are you an inbox zero or inbox one thousand kind of gal? (No judgment!)

Jaclyn Mellone on Ditch Your Vision Board, Do This Exercise Instead! - Go-To-Gal Podcast
Vision boards: yay or nay?
I have to confess…I’ve ditched mine. And it’s because of this →
By thinking about all the things you want…you’re thinking about all the things you don’t have. You are acknowledging a lack in your current life. And most times, that doesn’t feel so good.
All of a sudden, the goals and dreams you were so excited about can seem impossible to achieve. That resistance isn’t going to help you get to your vision any faster.
So what if we did things differently this year?
What if we were to focus on alignment and visualization that can bring you real clarity for what’s ahead?
I’ve got an exercise just for you on the Go-to Gal podcast. This is one that I turn back to every year to get in the right headspace for the new year. Are you in? Head over to your podcast player and listen now!
P.S. What did you do last year that you are most proud of? Share your success below so we can cheer you on!

Jaclyn Mellone on Validating Yourself - Go-To-Gal Podcast
What’s your new year goal-setting mood ⬇️
🥲 Hello, real life! Goodbye, goals. I have clients to take care of and things to do. Oh well.
🤔 I thought this goal was possible for me….but now I’m not so sure. How do people do this?!
😠 Ok, so everyone in my industry is achieving this goal. Why not me???
🤨 Uhhhhh, what goals?
Or maybe you’re a special unicorn and it’s all smooth sailing 😊 We ❤️ you too.
Whenever you set a goal, you might be in your mind saying, “Yes, that’s what I want! I can see it so clearly.” And then show up and you’re the same as you always were. That big disconnect can make it hard for us to move forward.
How are you supposed to achieve your goal when you’re working from a place of frustration? Sure, you could channel that energy as motivation, but sometimes it’s so discouraging.
All these feelings are totally normal and totally part of the journey. 😝
That may not make you feel better, but it should! You are not alone and you’re right in the middle of the goal-getting process just like the rest of us.
What’s really going to make a difference as you go after your goals is your state of mind. I hit record on a new episode of the Go-to Gal podcast to share what truly made a difference to me when going after my goals and I think this one will be just what you need to get on your way to making those goals happen and feeling all the good feels along the way.
P.S. Leave your goal-getting face with an emoji below. 😄

Jaclyn Mellone on Goal Setting - Go-To-Gal Podcast
Committing to your goals is a little bit like getting engaged…
The day you get engaged, you’re committed to get married. There is something about getting engaging, starting to plan your wedding that flips a switch in your mind and you’re just planning on the wedding happening.
And if that was you in 2021...maybe it’s happened in a different way than you thought. 😬
But whatever the year, when you make that commitment to get married, you have a belief it’s going to happen. And that belief carries you through all the decisions to make it happen.
This anecdote stands out in my mind because I can still remember over a decade ago calling to confirm a venue would have a liquor license in time for my wedding. They said no they couldn’t guarantee they would have the liquor license that day just like they couldn’t guarantee I’d actually get married that day. 😂
Ok, I can laugh now, but I was livid back then. You would be too, right? 🙈
What I really want you to think about commitments is that it is the first step to achieving your goal. What if you committed to your goals in such a way that you just believed they were going to happen?
That kind of commitment will force you to get creative when obstacles come your way. Because it’s no longer about, “Can this happen?” It’s about, “How can I make it happen?”
Excited to commit to your big goals for the new year? I’m sharing the big mistakes I see in goal setting and the success-driving antidotes I’ve come to love, as well as goal-setting mistakes I’m seeing and the keys to overcoming them. Listen to this episode of the Go-to Gal podcast and take your goals to the next level with me!

Cassandra McCrory on Unlocking a New Level - Go-To-Gal Podcast
One of my biggest motivators is flow.
Getting into the flow, staying inflow, and just going with the flow. Because when I'm fighting the flow, it's everything is really freakin’ hard.
That everyday feeling keeps me going more than the idea of achieving an end result.
I recently had a conversation with Cass McCrory of Real Women in Business Podcast with Cass McCrory and she totally backed this idea of flow over effort.
Here’s a little preview at the goodness Cass had to share:
“You can go against the current or you can go with the current and go with the flow.
Flow, to me, is the opposite of effort.
Flow is saying I’m willing. I'm willing to go at that pace. I'm really curious about how it's going to go for me.
I suspect that will be much more joyful because all of my experience confirms that.”
Whew! Yes, give me all the flow! In this conversation with Cass on the Go-to Gal podcast, we talk flow and what it actually takes to feel fulfilled in your everyday life. If you want in on all this flow and fulfillment, head over to your podcast player and join in!

Jaclyn Mellone on Building Business for the Next Generation Go-To-Gal Podcast
Growing up, I may have been called a bleeding heart once or twice, or ten times. 😅
I was always thinking of ways to give back and overflowing with ideas of things I could do to help.
But I always thought of making money and giving back as two *separate* things.
Melody Pourmoradi is living proof that this doesn’t have to be the case…
We can marry the ideas of making money and giving back.
Your idea for social impact doesn’t necessarily have to be a non-profit.
We can give and also receive.
Melody has built an incredible business teaching girls, Life Evolutions & Girlife Empowerment to be empowered and teaching other women how to run impactful and profitable girls empowerment businesses. In our conversation on the Go-to Gal podcast, we talk about creating for-profit businesses with social impact and all things empowerment: what it means to be empowered, how we role model empowerment, and how to teach it.
If you’re looking for a little inspiration, head over to your podcast player and join in the conversation.

Jaclyn Mellone on Gratitude_ Go- To-Gal Podcast
I’m grateful...but I want more.
How do these two things co-exist?!
I'm grateful for what I have, but at the same time, I'm putting something totally different on my vision board for the next year.
What I have and what I want feel drastically different. Does that mean I don’t want what I have? That I’m not grateful for it? Does that mean I should feel guilty for wanting bigger goals?
I should just be grateful for what I have, right?
At this time of year, we’re often thinking about growing our businesses and all the things that come with that.
So here’s what I want you to write down:
I can be grateful for everything I have and still want more.
Write it down, Gals.
You can have both.
Recognizing that is the key to getting on the path to more.
This may be something you’re thinking about unconsciously or not at all. As you bring attention to it, you’ll open up yourself to more that much easier.

[On Air Coaching] Does This Make Me Look Flaky How to Reign in Judgy People + A Harsh Inner Critic with Aubrey Mathis
I noticed very early that the way I talk about my business led to the way other people talked about my business.
Now sometimes you might run into the Negative Nancy who will do otherwise, but the people around you who are well-intentioned will follow your lead.
So if you downplay your business...that’s what other people will reflect on you.
When they say, “Oh, did you start a business?”
And you say, “Well, I don’t know. I’m trying this out. I was doing this, but now I’m looking at something else...”
The confidence and the excitement aren’t quite there, right?
If you’ve been frustrated with the way people have been treating your business, the flashing lights should be going off in your head. Maybe the real problem is the way you’ve been talking about your business!
This week on the Go-to Gal podcast you’ll get a front-row seat into an on-air coaching call where I chat with Aubrey Mathis on overcoming feelings of flakiness as an entrepreneur, speaking about your business with confidence, and getting over other people’s criticism of what you do. Jaclyn Mellone on Using Quizzes for Market Research -Go-To Gal Podcast
Sometimes when we think of ~ segmentation ~ a negative connotation pops up in our minds.
But at its core, segmentation just means that not everyone’s the same.
When we recognize that, and apply it to our businesses, the outcome can be pretty cool.
We can actually take our list and break it down into who’s interested in what or who’s struggling with this and then we can create customized content for their individual needs.
One of the most exciting ways to do this, if I say so myself, is with a QUIZ!
On the latest episode of the Go-To Gal podcast, I chatted with Interact Quiz Builder’s Digital Marketing Manager, Jessmyn Solana. Jessmyn thinks about quizzes in such a different way, I’m thrilled to share with you her ideas on unlocking the true value of this unique opportunity to get to know your audience.
Here’s a little sneak peek at why Jessmyn thinks quizzes are so valuable…
“You’ve probably seen that quizzes can work as a lead magnet to grow your list and segment your leads….But it’s so much more than that.
With a normal lead magnet, you’re saying, ‘Hey, I have this e-book. Give me your email and you can download it.’
The problem is, it might not speak to everyone on your list or only certain parts will apply to a specific person.
With a quiz, you’re inviting someone in with a question.
There’s this sense that you’re actually bringing it back to a one-on-one conversation. It’s a human-centered approach.”
There is so much value in bringing people to a quiz! It’s an interesting contrast to an ebook, although both can be valuable. In this conversation with Jessmyn, we talk about how any type of business model can work with a quiz and how business owners can use a quiz to better serve their audiences. Tune in now to dive into the fascinating world of quizzes with me!

Nicole Saunders on Mastering Your Mindset Using the Enneagram - Go-To-Gal Podcast
“Don’t worry about getting a certification.”
“You don’t need a certification, just get out there!”
“Don’t waste your time on a certification. You know everything you need to.”
We hear a lot of the same advice when it comes to making a decision about certification and other education opportunities.
I’d like to shine a little light on the idea that this choice is personal and probably different for every single business out there.
On the Go-to Gal podcast, I chatted with Enneagram Nicole Saunders Coach about getting her certification (before we dove deep into all things Ennegram!). What I noticed with Nicole is that after she got her certification, her whole energy shifted.
Here’s a sneak peek at what Nicole said about choosing to get a certification. (It might just change your stance on this topic!) --->
“Yes, it's kind of a lot of money for certification. It's a piece of paper literally.
But I'm such a learner. I love absorbing knowledge. I want it to be 100% confident in what I’m sharing, teaching and guiding people through.
I have a background in higher education. I have a Master's in College Student Development. So I thought, ‘I don't need this.’
And then I was like, ‘You know what, I want this.’
Honestly, I'm so glad that I did. That might not be the best decision for everybody, but it was for me. I'm just so lit up by it.”
That energy. That is absolutely contagious.
It’s so good for us to share both sides of the certification debate. Because maybe you don’t need it. Maybe you’re good to keep going without it. Or you might be someone who enjoys the extra knowledge and extra boost it gives.
Ready to dive into the Enneagram deep end with Nicole and me? In this episode of the Go-to Gal podcast we connect Ennegram with a mindset and even talk about how easy it is to mistype (Guilty!). Jump on your favorite podcast player to join the conversation.

Gayneté Jones on Creating Excitement for Your Offer Step By Step - Go-To-Gal Podcast
Is your business model steering you to a one-way street?
So many of us think we’re on this one street and we have to stay on it, following whatever the people ahead of us are doing.
What if it’s time to break traffic laws and start going in a different direction?
I chatted with Gaynete Jones, a business-building powerhouse who’s broken away from a one-way business model street to explore course-based and product-based ventures.
How do you know if taking a u-turn and exploring another business model is right for you?
Follow your gut.
Gayneté’s burning desire to learn more about building a product-led her down a totally new path. And it was all about her curiosity. She explained…
“We get curious about things for a reason.
We get curious about things that can help solve problems for others.”
This is your reminder that you don’t have to follow traffic laws in your business.
You can find inspiration in a totally new direction and when you follow that inner compass, you’ll build something completely aligned with who you are.
Not only did Gayneté and I chat about building multiple businesses, we also dove into how she created excitement for every offer she put out there. Kristen Westcott on Rethinking Your Team - Go-To-Gal Podcast
Does your business have a mind of its own?
Maybe you’ve been walking along, growing like you think you should, and all of a sudden you wonder how you ended up in a place you don’t really want to be.
It is *really* easy to get off track, especially when your business is growing quickly.
Kristen Westcott Strategist knows what it’s like to be in the messy middle. As a business growth and systems strategist, she helps business owners get out of the overwhelm and back on track.
Here’s what Kristen recommends when you’re starting to feel less boss and more chaos:
Get back in touch with what you want for your business.
Ask yourself (or journal it out):
What is your vision for your business?
What are you doing day-to-day that’s stressing you out?
Are those actions going to take you to your vision?
...or are they just a detour?
When you start to align your vision with your actions, you can back to the reason you started your business in the beginning.
Many times, that stress and overwhelm means that you’re ready to make your next hire. When’s the right time to hire a team member? Do you really need an OBM? Kristen answers these questions and more in this episode of the Go-to Gal podcast. Wondering if you need a first/second/fourth team member? Press play to get your questions answered.

Rebecca Minkoff on How to Become Fearless and Build a Global Brand - Go-To-Gal Podcast
Sometimes we think we need the perfect funnel. Or an expert marketing agency. Or an amazingly curated, crafted thing in order to market our offer.
But there’s a certain energy to going boots on the ground and getting really creative with your marketing.
When I chatted with Rebecca Minkoff for the Go-to Gal podcast I was inspired by her guerilla marketing side and how she literally went to the streets to get momentum and buzz going for her brand.
She said that kind of scrappiness came from having to do it all herself. (Shout out to you solopreneurs out there! You are in good company.)
Doing everything herself gave Rebecca the tactile feeling of building something that is so important as an entrepreneur.
She described the early stages of building a brand on her own like climbing a mountain with her bare fingers. That experience helped her build muscle and skills that translated into smarter decisions.
Can we all just give ourselves a pat on the back for those early-day struggles starting a business? You were building muscles, y’all!
It was an absolute joy talking with Rebecca and I know you’re going to enjoy our conversation on building a brand from scratch, creating opportunities despite fear and banishing burnout with Rebecca’s uniquely and refreshing perspective. Listen to our chat and come back here to share your thoughts. We’d love to hear what you learned!
