With tomorrow being the official kickoff for the 2022 Mcleansboro Fall Festival the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and Mcleansboro Police Department want to share some important safety reminders to make everyone’s time at the festival enjoyable.

1. Parents, take photos as you arrive at the festival of your child/children that way if the runoff and you have issues locating them you have an up to date photo and clothing description. This will help individuals that are attempting to locate the child easily find them and reunite you with your child.

2. Look both ways prior to crossing the street on the square. Yes it is a one way street on all three open sides of the square. However many out of town festival goers do not know the area and have a tendency to travel the wrong way on our one way streets.

3. Drive slowly around the square and blocks directly surrounding the square. We are anticipating large crowds all week and people park multiple blocks away from the square due to lack of parking. This means a lot of foot traffic in well lit and not so well lit areas.

We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable time at the Mcleansboro Fall Festival. We will have multiple law enforcement members at the event but always remember that in case of an emergency you can still dial 911.
