Nestled in the heart of Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, stands the magnificent Iglesia de la Compañía de Jesús (Church of the Society of Jesus). A testament to the rich tapestry of Peruvian history, this church was built on the foundations of an Inca palace and is one of the finest examples of Spanish Baroque architecture in the country. Its construction began in 1576, but after being severely damaged in an earthquake in 1650, it was rebuilt and completed in 1673. The church's stunning facade, intricate interiors, and the stories it holds are a blend of Inca and Spanish influences. "

Our Beginnings

Welcome to Americana Steeples! In my journeys with @explorewithtess I found myself drawn to church architecture, history, and stories – not to mention my fond memories of church suppers, VBS, and hometown nostalgia. On my many road trips, I noticed how steeples and spires were some of the first signs of a town over the horizon. Those steeples have looked over American towns for generations, symbolizing a common meeting place where families grew up, communities connected, and traditions carried on.
