Our fire and EMS families are greiving. This week we lost one of our own. Kalyn Books worked for Chetek Ambulance as an EMT. Kayln was a passionate provider and was always proud to serve others in their time of need. Kayln is the wife of CFD firefighter Justin Books and daughter-in-law of Assistant Chief Randy Books. Kayln lost her battle this week with mental health. Kayln leaves behind a grieving husband, daughter, and all that knew her.
As a fire and EMS family, Justin, we love you and send all our strength to you in the coming days. Please know that you are not alone.
Please keep Justin and his family in your prayers.
Rest in peace Kayln, we will take it from here.

Congratulations on another endorsement from law enforcement. Former Polk County Sheriff, Pete Johnson, endorsed Duke Tucker too.
Be sure to *vote today!
* Editorial Note: We don't care who you vote for - Republican or Democrat.
If you have followed this page for any amount of time you probably know it is run by conservatives who love freedom, support law enforcement, hate drug and s*x trafficking, and think the 2nd Amendment is a pretty smart idea.
For those (both of you) who have been emotionally damaged because we endorsed a candidate instead of just reporting car crashes, house fires, and criminal cases - just think of our endorsement as accident prevention – we are trying to avoid reporting on a train wreck in the morning.
Go Vote! 🗳
✅ Yes - Question 1

There are two confusing Referendum Questions on the ballot on Tuesday. Here is a breakdown of them and why we are voting YES to questions 1 & 2!
Since 1931, the governor has had the authority to allocate federal funds without legislative approval, a policy that made sense when information traveled slowly. Today, with instant communication, this outdated practice needs change.
During the pandemic, the governor spent $5 billion of your tax dollars without consulting you or the Legislature. This has raised concerns about accountability and transparency.
The referendum questions aim to ensure the Legislature must approve all spending, ensuring fair distribution of resources.
Referendum Questions
• Should the Legislature have the sole power to determine how moneys shall be appropriated?
• Should the Governor be prohibited from allocating federal funds without Legislature approval?
This proposal is in line with 34 other states that recognize the constitutional limits of each branch by requiring joint legislative and executive authority on the allocation of federal funds.
August 13th is when this decision impacting the future of Wisconsin’s spending process will be made.
Let's make sure our voices are heard and make an informed decision on August 13th!
**Special Thanks to Representative Magnafic AD28 for explaining the referendum questions in detail.**
If you are planning on voting in the Primary Election tomorrow (PLEASE GO VOTE).
We urge you to do what we did before voting and watch their candidate interviews. After watching the 3 candidate interviews on DrydenWire, we endorsing Duke Tucker for the 75th Assembly District.

Highlights: Duke served in the military and is a veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He currently serves his community as a Burnett County Board Supervisor. He is actively involved in his community.
Duke Tucker has been endorsed by the last 4 Republican Assembly Representatives for the 28th District (soon to be 75th Assembly District). G*e Magnafici, Adam Jarchow, Erik Seversen, and Mark Pettis.
He has also been endorsed by Burnett County Sheriff Tracy Finch and retired Burnett County Sheriff Ron Wilhelm.

Former President and current Republican Presidential Nominee has picked Ohio Senator J.D. Vance as his Vice Presidential running mate. Their nominations were approved earlier today.
Just two days after a failed assassination attempt on the former President, Wisconsin delegates cast their 41 delegate votes for Donald Trump.
🇺🇸 Unbelievable situation today at campaign event in Pennsylvania. Trump was shot on LIVE television.
A bullet was intended for the former President’s head in an apparent assassination attempt, but the shooter missed and the bullet grazed Trump’s ear.
A Secret Service sniper dispatched the shooter quickly after the first shot.
Unfortunately, a spectator in the crowd was killed and another was severely injured. Trump was pulled from the stage by Secret Service agents with blood gushing from his ear. He raised his fist in defiance to those who intended to harm him.
This is shocking and unacceptable in America. We cannot allow this to happen on either side.
President Trump was shot and injured at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. Secret Service has said he is ok, but being check at a hospital.
Happy Independence Day, everyone! Even though the weather isn't as amazing as we'd hoped, it is a great day to enjoy America's freedom, family, and friends. Stay safe today!

What does it take to be a hero? Exhibit A A group of good Samaritans on I-94 in St. Paul, Minnesota, fought through flames and extreme heat on the side of the highway to free a man who was trapped inside a burning vehicle. After crashing his car, the driver became trapped inside with flames on one side and a guard rail on the other. Bystanders jumped into action to try to free the driver. Luckily, a MNDOT employee was able to break out the glass with a window punch and together they pulled the driver from the wreckage before the flames engulfed the whole car. Heroes don't wear capes.
