Shonda Williamson is a Licensed Freight Broker, Drayage Consultant, Entrepreneur, residing in Newark NJ, a SBE and MWBE Certified Business, as well as a Vendor at the PANYNJ, Member of the Workforce Development Board, and a Partner with the TDL Partnership with the NJ Department of Labor. She attended Essex County College and Union County College where she completed her CSCMP Certificate in Supply Chain
Principles and Demand Planning. Her career in Logistics began 12 years ago as Supervisor of Dispatch at UPS and she continued to excel in accomplished roles, at one of the largest Shipping Lines CMA-CGM and then transitioned to Panasonic in Newark NJ. As a mother of 3 adult children, she can recall the financial challenges she faced 20 years ago being on public assistance and not having the skills needed to obtain employment that would cover her expenses. For years she attended college part-time and
worked a full-time job, knowing education is key. Although, the jobs she would obtain had no career potential, just an end to a means. Her spirit of perseverance, good attitude, positive perspective, and the belief that anything is possible led her to her destiny as an entrepreneur. Her introduction into the Drayage industry opened the door to her extensive education in Supply Chain, Logistics, and international/global business. She
has accomplished roles such as Logistic Coordinator, Operations, and Management without a degree. “I had never heard of Drayage, and amazingly this was the first time I had the opportunity to earn more than the low living wage, pay bills, and be valued as an
asset to a company.” A plan to “pay it forward” by training and providing employment options to her community led to the establishment of Logistic Professionals Incorporated designed for Improving the quality of life of Newark residents by providing experiential training, understanding the impact of transferrable skills, and the purpose of upskilling has been her mission. Providing community outreach opportunities via information sessions and training courses weekly leading to employment. Logistic Professionals Incorporated has successfully made partnerships with community organizations such as Ironbound Community Corporation, Leaders for Life, and Newark Street Academy to offer drayage training to their clients and students.
