RECOUNT magazine Based in the belief that culture is actually lived, we celebrate and explore the connection of human experience and artistic expression to politics.

/ri'kount/

verb: tell someone about something; give an account of an event or experience. noun: an act or instance of giving an account of an event or experience. Based on the belief that political culture is actually lived, we celebrate and explore the connection of human experience and artistic expression to politics. Art, music, and sociopolitical commentary are essential to communication and

interaction. In the political sphere today, issues are limited to polarizing legislative or media-narrative terms when they’re truly about a common, human conversation. Recount is about changing the conversation to matters of quality of life and progression, to what it takes to live purposefully and engage with the worlds (political, social, environmental) around us. We use social media to broadcast, strengthen, and promote counterculture perspectives and commentary. We embrace complex issues and the ways people process and learn from them to then take action. Recount was created to increase political participation amongst people outside of ideology, based on the principle that every voice, every experience, every vote matters. Some things will move you, others will bore you, and hopefully, most will pique your interest. We feature:

-thoroughly sourced content

-reviews and recommendations for exhibits, festivals, and opportunities for activism

-artist, musician, and writer features

-information and commentary on policy and legislation

-curated content: podcasts, songs, and articles

-open submissions

-original polls and interactive content

plus whatever else develops! This is the forum for political counterculture, what happens when the accounts of the people are at the forefront. Give your Recount. We are super open to submissions, thoughts, and new contributors. Thanks for checking us out, and contact us or follow the links to participate. Email: [email protected]

“Overall, the two films fit very well together. I find them especially effective when seen back-to-back, as it makes the contrast between them more striking. One is a cult classic geared towards a particular demographic, while the other adds an extra layer that expands on the material of its counterpart, making it entertaining for all kinds of filmgoers.”

“We sense or fear that the military action of Russia could go beyond Ukraine and extend to other countries that are tempted by, or have already converted to, the Western package of institutions. Russian leaders can indeed feel under attack, not a military attack, but a strategic and economic one because many of its neighbors and former allies have been moving towards the West ever since the 1990s.”

I hated church. It took me away from the thing I most wanted and that was “USA’s Kung Fu Theatre.” “Rasslin” ( or wrestling) was coming on also and we couldn’t watch that either. My brother and I didn’t “eat” food. Rather, we consumed as quickly as we could so we could get back ...
