Last year I took on a new challenge. I wrote my first 9 environmental features for the South Seattle Emerald and really enjoyed the process. At 5pm on Sunday December 10th, I'm asking journalists, friends, and supporters of press freedom to join me alongside other media workers as we hold a vigil at Jose Rizal Park to honor and call attention to journalists who have been killed in Palestine.

The Committee to Protect Journalists reports at least 63 journalists and media workers have lost their lives since October 7th. That's more than any conflict since these numbers have been recorded.

I will give a brief statement, we will light candles and speak the names of the dead.

Please tell the journalists in your lives so that they can attend.
