While the Fourth of July is a day of fun and fireworks for us, for pets, all those booms are seriously traumatizing.

If you’ve got a pet that gets freaked out by fireworks, experts say there are things you can do to keep them safe. Here’s what you need to know:

Leave your pet at home: Fireworks displays can be disorienting and frightening to pets, even those used to going places with their people.

Do not leave your pet in the car: Cars in the summer are dangerously hot. Your pet can suffer serious health effects, even death, in a few short minutes. Partially opened windows do not provide sufficient air, but do provide an opportunity for your pet to be stolen.

Create a home sanctuary: Leave your pet in an area of your home where they are safe, comfortable, and sheltered from any outside noise and lights. An inside room with no windows may be best.

Pet-proof your home: When scared, some animals can become destructive, so be sure to remove anything that can become damaged or might harm your pet if chewed.

Keep them inside: Never leave pets outside and unattended. Even in a fenced in yard, panic can lead a pet to escape and get lost, or become injured while trying to seek refuge.

Identification: Make sure that your pet is always wearing identification. Better yet, make sure they are micro-chipped. In the unfortunate event that your pet gets lost, IDs greatly increase your chances of being reunited.

Americans everywhere will proudly display the American flag this Independence Day weekend, but how many will be doing it correctly? There are rules for raising and displaying the Stars and Stripes that are laid out in the United States Flag Code.

Here are some of the dos and don'ts for displaying Old Glory:

If you're flying it from a flagpole, hoist it quickly but lower it slowly and ceremoniously.

Do not display a worn flag.

Do not put an American flag in the trash can. Dispose of worn flags properly, preferably by burning. Many American Legions hold burning ceremonies.

Do not let it touch the ground.

Do not hang it upside down.

Flags displayed at night should be illuminated.

Michael J. Fox has responded to what he described as a “mind blowing” appearance with Coldplay at Glastonbury’s Worthy Farm.

Fox, who famously played Marty McFly in the Back To The Future movies, retired from acting in 2020 and in recent years has opened up about living with Parkinson’s. During ‘Fix You’, Chris Martin sang “Go, Johnny, go!” as Fox played the guitar – a reference to Back To The Future.

Sting, his old friend Bryan Adams, and Simply Red will ring in the upcoming ski season in Austria with shows in the Schladming-Dachstein region over the weekend of December 6th to 8th.

Taking place in Planai Stadium, Adams will perform on Friday, Sting on Saturday, and Simply Red will close it out on Sunday.

They were all on hand for the press conference earlier this week announcing the shows, and were presented with wool blankets.

In other Sting news, he guests on the new single from singer-songwriter Fantastic Negrito called “Undefeated Eyes," which is on YouTube now.

Depeche Mode, Green Day, War, and Prince are among the 30 artists in the 2025 Hollywood Walk of Fame class.

While the acts are part of the 2025 class, they'll have up to two years to figure out when to accept the honor.

The motion picture honorees include John Carpenter, Jessica Chastain, Bill Duke, Robert Englund, Emilio Estevez, Colin Farrell, Jane Fonda and Nia Long.

The Trillium Quilting Guild will showcase some of its most exquisite pieces, celebrating 26 years in Door County and offering a unique glimpse into its history. The Guild not only makes artistic statements but also gives back to the community by creating quilts for those in need, such as Neighbor to Neighbor, Help of Door County, and local ambulances.

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet these talented artisans and witness their craft in action. The event will take place on Friday, June 28th and Saturday, June 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., inviting guests to stroll around the square and admire the beautiful works of art up close.

The afternoon commute might be different for some people. So check this out before you slip into the driver's seat, peanut!

CTH U at the intersection of Rosewood Road and S Shiloh Road will be closed until further notice due to a culvert that washed out during this morning’s storm.
The Highway Department is assessing the damage and will repair it as soon as possible.
A detour has been set up that will utilize CTH J, CTH S and Kennedy Drive in Kewaunee County. They ask that motorists to not utilize this intersection until repairs have been completed.

The first single off Coldplay's new album is here.

"Feels like I'm Falling in Love" (stylized as "feelslikeimfallinginlove," with lower case letters with no spaces between the words) was produced by Swedish hit-maker Max Martin and is available at all digital streamers and retailers, including YouTube, which is audio only, since as of now there's no video.

The upcoming album, Moon Music, comes out on October 4th. It was announced earlier this week that each LP will be made 100 percent from nine recycled plastic bottles.
