In 2013, GLAHW Member, Ken MacGregor had a brilliant idea for a Special Auction Prize at the annual Monster Mash for Literacy Bash – raffle off the opportunity for the winner’s name to become the sole theme of a future Anthology.
Several brave souls went into the hat and one emerged victorious.
Thus, Recurring Nightmares was born.
For the cost of a special raffle ticket, one lucky person will have his or her name featured in every story created especially for the Recurring Nightmare book, released the following late Summer.
You can grab a raffle ticket at any GLAHW appearances or the yearly Monster Mash for Literacy Bash.
Proceeds benefit the Dominican Literacy Center of Detroit (dlcliteracy.org).
Thanks to everyone who came out to Motor City Comic Con and stopped by the table to talk, inquire about membership, buy Misfortune Cookies, or indulge in a new book (or 3). We hope you had a great time, and we really, really hope you found a new favorite writers' group to support.

The Motor City Comic Con tradition continues.
GLAHW will be appearing at Motor City Comic Con 2024 on May 17 to May 19 in Novi MI to share their visions of horror.
GLAHW members (MontiLee Stormer and Michael Cieslak) will be on hand, along with whoever else may show up.

12 authors have been selected to have their stories appear in upcoming release. We are looking forward to working with them through the editing process.

Before the beginning of recorded history, protohumans gathered around burning logs and told stories.
These tales imparted lessons for life, told the history of the group, and sought to explain those beings which dwelt in the darkness just beyond the circle of light and warmth provided by the companion fires.
In this anthology, the members of the Great Lakes Association of Horror Writers peer deep into that darkness. Contained within are tales to haunt, amuse, and remind readers of those first terrors.
