An unbridled idealism is co...

During this strange time of Covid-19 and no live church services, our family has been recording most of the services of Holy Week and we plan to continue through as strength allows until our churches are re-opened. Please use these resources if they are helpful. We are providing text and some music as we're able so that you can play the service and pray/sing along at your own icon corner. We have abbreviated a bit according to our priest's direction. This is mostly in OCA style rubrics and largely Russian-based Kievan and znamenny chant with some Byzantine thrown in as well.

This is the day on which Judas betrays the Master: "If you loved the Priceless One why did you sell him? Why did you hand Him over to be murdered? Shudder, O Sun! O earth, lament and cry with fear: O Long-suffering Lord, glory to Thee!" The service is to be sung Wednesday evening or Thursday morning...

An abbreviated Matins this time. After a 12h shift at the hospital I did not have strength to do the whole thing. But at least we get to enjoy the hymnography for the saint and this day of Lent as we move into the Week of Palms.
