Welcome to the enchanting Shirahama Shrine, situated in the serene Izu Peninsula of Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. This sacred site, dedicated to the Shinto deity Amaterasu, the goddess of the sun, is a testament to the rich spiritual heritage of the region. The shrine's tranquil setting, surrounded by lush greenery and overlooking the vast Pacific Ocean, makes it a must-visit destination for those seeking a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The Shirahama Shrine has a fascinating history that dates back over a thousand years. According to legend, the shrine was founded in the 8th century by the legendary warrior Yamato Takeru, who was said to have been guided to the location by a white horse. The shrine's iconic Torii gate, which stands at the edge of the sea, is a symbol of the shrine's connection to the ocean and its role as a guardian of the local fishing community. The Torii gate is also said to mark the boundary between the human world and the realm of the gods, making it a powerful symbol of spiritual protection and guidance. As you walk through the Torii gate and explore the shrine's grounds, you'll be transported to a world of ancient rituals and traditions, where the natural beauty of the surroundings is intertwined with the spiritual essence of the shrine.

Nestled amidst the bustling urban landscape of Tokyo lies the serene and enchanting Joshinji Temple, a hidden gem that truly comes alive during the autumn season. As the air starts to crisp and the leaves transition into vibrant hues of red, orange, and gold, the temple grounds transform into a captivating canvas of natural beauty. Walking along the winding paths adorned with maple and gingko trees, visitors are greeted by a breathtaking sight—the foliage ablaze with color, creating a serene and picturesque atmosphere. The juxtaposition of the ancient temple structures against the backdrop of nature's fiery palette evokes a sense of timelessness, inviting contemplation and a profound appreciation for the harmony between man-made architecture and nature's artistry.

The birthplace of one of Tokyo’s oldest trees (more than 700 years old), the Joshinji Temple or Jōshin-ji was first established in 1678 in Kuhonbutsu (a few meters away from the Kuhonbutsu Station in Tokyo) and home of the three Buddha Halls which are just in front of the main Hall, housing three of the nine Amida (Amitabha) Buddha.

Each of these tall statues shows a different hand position, also known as Mudra, which have a symbolic meaning in esoteric Buddhism.

These Buddha Statues are the craftwork of the great master Kaseki Shonin (1617-1694) who devoted many years of his life to create nine different manifestations of the Amida Buddha.

Jufukuji Temple, known as the third among Kamakura's esteemed five Zen temples, holds its roots as a branch of the Rinzai sect's Kenchoji school. Established at the behest of Masako, wife of Minamoto Yoritomo following his demise, this temple was founded by the famous priest Eisai, credited with introducing Zen Buddhism to Japan. While the temple grounds boast a renowned pathway often captured in photographs, Jufukuji remains primarily closed to the public.

In 1180, Hojo Masako commissioned the construction of this temple, situated on the grounds once owned by Minamoto no Yoritomo's father. Legends suggest that Minamoto Sanetomo, the third sh**un, frequented the temple during its prime. At its peak, the temple complex encompassed as many as 15 subtemples. Presently, access is limited to the nakamon area. It holds the esteemed rank of third among Kamakura's five great Rinzai temples and is also recognized as Kamakura's 33rd Kannon and 24th Jizo
