The good news is my 2102 video is just about edited and will premiere Friday morning! Enjoy my chase of the 2102 on its second trip along the Lehigh Line to Pittston. The future of the SS *United States* is currently at a critical juncture. The SS *United States* Conservancy has been working tirelessly to secure a new home for the historic ocean liner, which must vacate its current berth in Philadelphia by September 12, 2024, following a court order. In response to this, the Conservancy has launched an urgent fundraising campaign, successfully raising over $150,000. Additionally, an anonymous donor has pledged a substantial six-figure donation if a new berth is secured.

There is a proposed plan to transform the SS *United States* into a mixed-use development project in New York City, which includes a 1,000-room hotel, event spaces, and public green areas. This project aims to not only preserve the ship but also to create significant economic benefits and jobs. However, the final decision on the ship's future location and the realization of this redevelopment project remain pending as the search for a suitable berth continues.

The Conservancy is engaging with various port authorities and exploring multiple options along the eastern seaboard, but challenges such as the current Atlantic hurricane season and technical requirements for safely towing the ship complicate the situation. The future of the SS *United States* depends on these ongoing efforts and the success of securing a new location and funding .

The main reason that sold me on this past weekends chase, was the fact the Reading & Northern F units would be running Sunday to Pittston. My thought was I’d get whatever I didn’t get with the 02 with the F Units. Never did get to see these on the main. While Sunday was foggy weather, with mist I did chase the F Units to Pittston. I was hoping to chase them back, but the forecast for Sunday didn’t look good, and the approaching storms had me and my grandfather leave early. Anyhow here is a shot of the F Units reaching Solomon’s gap. With a backdrop of the mountains on a rainy summer day. This spot reminded me of something you’d see at Conway Scenic. This past Saturday, I made my way back to the Reading & Northern to chase the 2102 on the Pittston Iron Horse Rambles. Chase went great, used my new 4K camera and I ant wait to share the finally result with everyone! Here on the return trip to Nesquehoning 2102 leads the train through the S Curve, at the White Haven Community library, which used to be a Roundhouse. Hoping to have the video up by Friday! With Arcade & Attica Railroad Corporation Steam Locomotive, 18 passing the FRA Steam Tests this week, and returning to passenger service on August 24th, I figured this would be a great Throwback Thursday post. This photos are both from the two 100th Anniversary of the Railroad Events, in 2017. They wyed 18 to face southbound. This was the only time I chased 18, but it was the second steam locomotive I saw operate back in 1997. I look forward to next weekend, and Good job to the Steam Crew at Arcade & Attica for a successful restoration on 18.

One year ago today, I chased the 2102 again to get a more complete video. Minus some camera issues that day, and traffic being even more insane than the last time it was a fun time. Here at the Nesquehoning Junction, 2102 gets up to speed as they depart Jim Thorpe. This Saturday if I all goes well, I look forward to the pittston iron horse ramble.

Good Evening & Happy Friday Everyone! My video this week is now up, The Last Erie County Fair Train: 100th Anniversary Fair Train. On August 1st, 2024 the Erie County Fair Train would return once more, but it would also be The Last Fair Train. 100 years ago Strates Shows began bringing The Erie County Fair to town by Train. Over the years many people have went trackside to see the fair come to town. Originally starting with the Erie Railroad, to the now Buffalo Southern. As a kid I always would watch them get ready to leave town. It became a tradition for myself up until 2019. On August 1st I would chase the train one last time, but this time coming into Hamburg. Hope you all enjoy my video! .

As I continue to work on the fair train video, which will hopefully premiere this friday, I am also getting some video today. Seeing how today starts the 184th Erie County Fair let’s go back to last week. Here with only a caboose, and after waiting for NS 14M to pass, Buffalo Southwen 4212 passes over the GB in Blasdell. Back in the day, this is where the Erie, Pennsylvania & Nickel Plate crossed. Now it is just Norfolk Southern & Buffalo Southern.

Last night, thanks to GT Rail Fan Productions I found myself trackside for a bit in Lakeview to catch this. New Haven 2058, an FL9 was trailing on M364. It’s often you see an F Unit on the mainline anymore. From what I have read online this engine is being restored to operation at the Berkshire Valley Scenic Railroad.

Good Morning Everyone! My video this week is now up of Norfolk & Western 475: Echoes of the Southern Pacific in Paradise: July 2024 (4K). This is what I was able to salvage from the Camera issues, I was having last weekend. Enjoy my most recent visit to the Strasburg Rail Road from last weekend! I would ride the 10 AM excursion, then chase the rest of the day. 475 was wearing a Southern Pacific 6 chime and sounded fantastic. From ride footage, to various angles along the road to paradise on a hot summers day hope you all enjoy this video! Sorry if this isn't up to par with my other videos, but this was the best I was able to do with the usable clips from last weekend.

I also ran into my good friend Railfan Thommy during the day and chased with him.

During the last week of July, my mom & I went down to Strasburg for a day Trip. It had been almost 2 months since my last steam chase, and it had been a whil...

For anyone curious on the video. I have been having some issues with my video camera since my June Chattanooga Trip. I accidentally dropped it. While it has worked since then, this past week the focus went on the device, and the manual focus isn’t working much better either, the good news is I was able to salvage 80% of the video. But it has been a mess and I have been playing with it. I am hoping to have it up tommorow or Sunday.

As I continue to edit, my most recent Strasburg video, here is another promo for the video which will hopefully be up Friday or Saturday. Here 475 is stopped to let off/pick up passengers from Geoff’s Grove with the 1 PM train, with a nice plume of smoke.

Yesterday was history in the making. For the first time in 5 years, the Erie County Fair train returned to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the Fair Train. However it would also be the last time the fair train would operate. Since Covid, Strates shows has been trucking everything around. But for once last time, the Erie County Fair came by train. This is something I have watched every year since I have been a kid. Here at the tift street overpass Buffalo Southern 4212 which finally got its BSOR paint finished, leads the train out of Tift Yard. The Erie County Fair Strates Shows

Good morning all! I was a little behind on editing photos from my most recent adventure to the Strasburg Railroad. So this past Saturday I returned to the railroad to ride and chase Norfolk & Western 475. Here during the 3 PM run, they emerge from the cut by the cemetery shot climbing the grade at carpenters. Video will hopefully be ready by Friday! However my video camera bite the dust on Saturday. The good news is that most of the video is salvageable.

Happy Friday everyone! I forgot throwback Thursday yesterday, but let’s do Flashback Friday this week! Let’s go back to Memorial Day weekend of 2023. Here with the Sunday 11 AM Train, Norfolk & Western 475 charges to the top of Groundhog cut at Esbenshade. For this shot I went low to get the train with the vegetation. I forget who recommended the idea but I thought it came out neat. If all goes well I look forward to trekking back down to Strasburg tomorow!

Today I heard that CSX 1897, the Monon Heritage Unit was leading I017. So after tracking it, I went out trackside today to catch it. Rounding the curve at Lakeview, New York the train continues its trek west. I017 runs from Worchester Massachusetts, to Bedford Park Illinois.

We would like to personally congratulate Canadian Pacific Kansas City Southern on a successful Final Spoke Steam Tour! After 10,000 miles and three countries that’s nuts but it was the railfan event o the year! For our throwback Thursday post, we go back to the first day I chased it. Here in a place called Dakota, 2816 passes another river overlook with the Mississippi River. This made up for the two we were unable to beat the train to.

Yesterday I went out trackside to catch the CSX 1871, the ACL heritage unit leading I009. Someone nearby had a radio and right before they came into view he heard there was an autocracy that would block our view completely. So I moved over to the other side of the tracks, where this was the best shot I got of the engine going away. Need a redo, but for now it works.

Today I went trackside to catch the Norfolk Southern Reading Lines Heritage unit, NS 1067 leading NS 310. The last time I saw this engine, was in 2020 on a late 316 trailing. So to finally catch this engine leading was great. Here the train crosses over the Diamond, known as GB, in Blasdell New York on a partially cloudy sunny afternoon.
