I started my blog, Penny Pincher Journal, in January 2013 after we made an impulse purchase of $1,000 at the pet shop. I was thinking a lot about ways to spend less money and how I could make extra money to pay for the new puppy! I was raised on a small farm where spending very little money was a way of life. Where Does All the Money Go?!

I started my blog, Penny Pincher Journal (http://pennypincherjournal.blogspot.com), in January 2013 after my family made an impulse purchase of $1,000 at the pet shop. I realized that we didn’t have a good way to pay for this unplanned purchase. But I make lots of money, so where was all the money going? Why were we broke?

I started looking at our spending to find ways to cut back and actually hang on to some of the money I was making. I also started investigating easy ways to make some extra money to pay for the puppy. I decided to start a blog to share my ideas on saving money.
