We believe in the transformative power of poetry. Our mission is to publish writing that actively engages the social issues of our time and represents the marginalized. We believe genuine writing creates an opportunity for dialogue about how to positively mend the errors of our world. We want to capture the gritty beauty of life and give it back to the people who need to realize the power of that
beauty. The Mission of Rising Phoenix Press is to be a living example that poetry is not a dead art by openly engaging social and cultural issues through poetry. Our philosophy for publication is that poetry is a dynamic art that can be utilized to address modern social issues and accurately represent the lives of all people. We seek to represent the working class and other marginalized groups in verse. The poetry we publish is dedicated to the voiceless masses, citizens who are ignored or considered invisible by popular culture. We seek to mend the conflict of the world one page, one poem, and one heart at a time. Our style is best described by our motto, which is “Writing our ashes into the heavens.” We seek to capture the gritty beauty of life, and give it back to the people who need to realize the power of that beauty. We at Rising Phoenix Press embody our mission by actively recruiting writers who share our vision. We operate The Rising Phoenix Review, a monthly online zine, dedicated to tracking modern social issues in real time. We also strive to publish 3-5 collections of poetry per year.
