News I did not think I would see this week:

That studio did a fantastic job with AoT and Vinland Saga. Just nuts to start remaking an anime that isn't over yet, but I guess it has been on forever. I'm super interested to see how this turns out.

This is $5 right now on Steam (50% off). It's feels like a RimWorld clone with Terraria's accessibility. At least, I don't remember RimWorld being this easy to get into. The publisher recently had a huge hit with Against the Storm and I am hoping that will give them the resources to bring this game and some of the others they have in their catalog (like Empires of the Undergrowth) out of early access. Finished Wheel of Time S2 last night. Not perfect, but definitely better than the first season. I think the acting improved and it felt far less "CW". Rosamund Pike still carries the show. I know the first couple seasons of GoT weren't perfect and really hoping this keeps improving. If anything, it makes me want to read/listen to the books. Still far better than what prime did with LOTR (zzzzzzzz).

Has anyone else tried Sea of Stars? I'm just getting into it, but it's looking pretty promising. The gameplay is smooth, and I'm excited to see what kind of surprises it's got in store. My only real criticism so far is the jarring difference between cut scenes and gameplay graphics.

NOTE: Have also been playing Sea of Thieves with thirtylives. It's going OKAY, but I don't think my attention will hold much longer on it. The lack of any real character progression/skills/stats/weapon stats really put me off.

I get a little bored with NMS. I feel like it lacks a driven uniqueness and everything feels a bit samey very quickly. Hopefully this will be different, because open world fantasy at this level sounds really cool

PC Games I've Been Playing:
- Monster Hunter: World Iceborne - Haven't dived too deep into it (3 missions I believe), but it seems.... okay so far? Enough to keep me playing for now. I really want to try some of the hunts co-op. I like what seems to be a lot of weapon customizations and the aesthetic of the game, but am worried I will get bored of the gameplay.

- Deep Rock Galactic - Went back to this game again after doing some solo play awhile ago. We played co-op this time and the hook just isn't there. Is this game purely meant as a time kill with friends and mess around mining stuff, or does the gameplay change a bit after the first few missions?

- Sea of Thieves - Have not actually played this yet, but am going to give it a shot co-op this week since they implemented private servers. I always read it was a nightmare for new players because of veterans just demolishing them and this seems like a way around that.

Any thoughts on any of these or other recommendation of games would be greatly appreciated. Would love to play something that I am just completely abdicated to for months. Online co-op/multiplayer, rpg and adventure elements with some crafting and customization are basically what I am aiming for.

Record of Grancrest War - 6.8/10 (So far - we are around 4 episodes in) - Crunchyroll - So, we kicked off this series last night, and it's shaping up to be a decent watch. The story has some cool potential for depth, with different factions and lords scheming against each other. I really enjoy some of the characters (Irvin and Aishela are usually signs of a great scene) - but I do feel like Siluca's personality is a bit off at times - jumping between confident and very timid.

The main crew we're following navigates through all this drama to level up their standing amongst the others, but here's the thing—the pacing is a bit too speedy. It's like they hit the fast forward button or removed some scenes entirely, and your brain's playing catch-up,

Maybe my opinion will swing one way or the other by the time we reach the end. Gotta see how it all wraps up! Side Note: This is apparently also a tabletop rpg, which I think could be awesome, because the setup for this world is interesting to me.

Blue Eye Samurai - Netflix - Last night, we concluded our viewing of this exceptional anime. I wholeheartedly recommend it for its compelling narrative set in Edo-period Japan, where a skilled swordsman navigates life incognito, driven by a quest for revenge. The storyline is captivating, complemented by impressive fight sequences and stellar voice acting. While the overall experience is commendable, there are a few instances where a higher degree of suspension of disbelief is required more than anticipated. Nevertheless, these moments are easily overlooked. If you haven't already explored this anime, I encourage you to add it to your watchlist. - 8/10

I really like how some of these turned out. The planes are what i was originally going for, but then the idea kind of evolved. Still can't tell if the eyes are creepy or not? 🤔🤔🤔
