A LEGACY OF FAITH: THE RETIREMENT OF PASTOR JONAH CHERUIYOT
For over four decades, Pastor Jonah Cheruiyot has been a beacon of hope, faith, and unwavering dedication in his community. As he steps into retirement, it is a moment to reflect on a life richly lived in service to God and humanity.
Pastor Jonah began his ministry 1973 UpTo 1980 at AIC Tandui,Sacho Branch with a profound sense of calling. His early years were marked by tireless efforts to spread the gospel and provide support to those in need. From humble beginnings, he built a congregation that grew both in numbers and in spirit. His sermons were known for their depth, compassion, and relevance, touching countless lives and guiding many on their spiritual journeys.
In 1981,he was transfered to AIC Kapsoo in Kapropita branch where he served up to 1986 before proceeding to AIC Kipkaech ,Kipkaech DCC between 1987 to 2007.
His last tour of duty was at Kabochony AIC in Kipkaech DCC where he ministered from 2007 to retirement.
He also worked as untrained teacher UT as well as evengilist within the environs of Lelgut Primary.
Throughout his ministry, Pastor Jonah 's commitment to his congregation was evident. He was not just a preacher but also a mentor, friend, and counselor. His doors were always open, his ears always ready to listen, and his heart always willing to help. Whether comforting a grieving family, celebrating a joyous occasion, or offering guidance in times of struggle, Pastor Cheruiyot was a constant presence of grace and wisdom.
His contributions extended beyond the walls of the church. He championed various community initiatives, advocating for education, healthcare, and social justice. His vision for a better world was matched only by his determination to make it a reality. Under his leadership, numerous outreach programs were established, each reflecting his deep compassion and commitment to making a difference.
As Pastor Jonah Cheruiyot enters retirement, the impact of his work is evident in the transformed lives and strengthened community he leaves behind. His legacy is not only in the sermons preached or the programs run but also in the countless personal connections and the deep faith he nurtured in others.
The community he served will always cherish his memory and the lessons he imparted. Although Pastor Cheruiyot may be retiring from his formal role, his influence will undoubtedly endure, a testament to a life well-lived in the service of God and others.
The retirement ceremony will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at our church kipkaech starting at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome to join in celebrating his remarkable journey.

Today's presidential visit to Baringo County focuses on several key initiatives aimed at accelerating the region's development and enhancing the quality of life for its residents. The visit underscores the president’s commitment to ensuring peace, inclusivity, stability, and prosperity across the country.

The development of geothermal production in Baringo County will be a major focus.

This initiative is crucial for attracting green manufacturing investments and positioning Baringo as a leading manufacturing hub in Kenya.
The president will be in Baringo County today to launch the Digital Hub at North Rift TVC. This launch will highlight the progress on the Digital Super Highway aimed at enhancing digital skills and job creation in Baringo. It’s good to note that in Baringo each constituency already have at least one digital hub with all MPs committed building one digital hub in every ward and additionally more fibre infrastructure has been constructed with 105Km fiber connectivity between Emining and Kabartonjo having just been completed and Several institutions in the county have connected to fiber, including Mogotio Subcounty Hospital, Eldama Ravine Library, Kabarnet Library , Baringo High School, Kabartojo Post office among others and also those still far away from fiber like chemaligot and Kachepgor are connected with low orbiting satellite. All public institutions along the existing and new fiber line will be connected soon.

Today's presidential visit will also involve launching of Tiaty Medical Training College.(MTC) This will be a key highlight. This will ultimately provide essential training and education to future healthcare professionals in Baringo and the country at large especially unlocking opportunities for the highly sort after nursing courses, the local hospital will also greatly benefit from from this initiative.
