Tonight I’d like to share the new EP from my friends in Dreamwheel entitled ‘Redeemer’.

I befriended Julia Gaeta when I discovered her music 5 or more years ago and we have been pleasant acquaintances since. Julia is an extremely talented songwriter who seemingly effortlessly writes catchy tunes whilst not sticking to a formula and takes the music in unexpected directions.
Likewise, her partner in crime, and a more recent acquaintance of mine, Evan Linger (whom some of you might know from other projects or past bands.. (cough cough) Skeleton Witch) is equally as talented on multiple instruments with his own unique sense of melody that exudes a magnetic quality which demands the listener’s attention - it’s impossible to ignore (in the best way).

Not enough can be said about the profound effect Killing Joke: Official and particularly Geordie Walker’s playing have had on my life. His sense of rhythm and melody are unparalleled - he had a truly unique voice that I will cherish forever. I feel so fortunate that I got to see them perform before he left us. The world is a worse place today without Kevin Geordie Walker in it.

Much love and support to all those he loved, all those who loved him and his art… his legacy will never cease to provide joy and light.

A bit shocked this morning to find out about the untimely passing of an old friend.

Dave Corsile was the first friend I made in Los Angeles before the school year even started when I moved there to attend Musicians Institute back in ‘03. Dave was working at Hot Topic at Hollywood / Highland when I was going around looking for work. I hit it off with Dave and Jason McGuire , who was also working there at the time when he wasn’t on tour, and between the 2 of them they got me a much needed job.

I played Dave some rough mixes of the band I left in CLE, Embers to Ashes, and he LOVED it. So much so, the band he was currently in, called Supervillain, was in need of a new drummer so I joined not too long after. Once another close friend of mine, Jay Bonnell , joined me in LA, I quickly pulled him into Supervillain with me and we started writing and playing shows around the city.

It was surreal for us being that Supervillain featured Dan Clements of EXCEL fame on vocals, James Morris of Downset on bass, and Dave, who had played in a band called Flashpoint that had been on an Ozzfest as well as a touring guitar player for Downset once or twice. These guys were crossover legends that we grew up listening to at a young age...it was a trip for sure.
I not only worked with Dave, but we rehearsed at his house in Burbank at least once, if not twice some weeks.

I’ll forever cherish my short time playing with those guys and will never forget Dave and his intense passion for music and movies, specifically horror and Star Wars.
Thanks for all you did for me Dave -
Until we meet again…
Rest in Peace brother.
