Chi-Sound Records The Sound of Chicago The origin of Chi-Sound goes all the way back to 1976. Only to re-open them in 2007, with a special focus on Hip-Hop and R&B.

Legendary producer Carl Davis-the man behind the hits of Jackie Wilson, Gene Chandler, The Chi-Lites, Mary Wells, & The Artistics-ventured out to form his own label after crafting international success with both Columbia and Brunswick Records. Chi-Sound was born as the Sound of Chicago, encompassing everything beautiful about the pioneering musical hotbed of The Windy City. After dropping top 10 b

illboard hits throught the late 70's and 80's, Chi-Sound closed it's doors in 1990. The new President, Jerry Williams Sr., was appointed in 2010 with the mission to carry the caliber of cutting edge sound into the future and forge a new business model for the industry. Even with the passing of Davis in 2012, the legacy of Chi-Sound continues to live and thrive; emerging once again as the sound of Chicago with new artists and a new outlook on art, culture and society.
