Reading is a key component of early literacy development and you can set an example of just how crucial this is by modeling the behaviour yourself. Children are excellent at mimicking the adults around them which means that if you regularly set aside some "me time" for reading, your children may very well learn to do the same.

Let's see those outfits! I'll start… here's our Stubby Blue Crayon.

To make this costume you need: sweatshirt, hat, gaffer tape, coloured card, scissors.
Method: Cut out shapes from the gaffer tape and stick on clothing. Twist paper into cone shape and stick on hat.
Et voila.

From his barber shop in Fleet Street, Sweeney Todd murders selected customers to steal their money and valuables. Some suspect he is up to no good, but no one knows how he actually kills his victims. How does he dispose of the bodies? And what is his connection with Mrs. Lovett who runs a popular pie shop nearby?

Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street is adapted from the original serialised
story The String of Pearls, and our graphic novel breathes new life into the legendary barber who “polished ‘em off”.

Gory? No! What's particularly good about this adaptation is that none of the horror is to be seen; making this a truly wonderful version of a brilliant book. It is a gruesome tale, portrayed with a certain Victorian “twee-ness” that borders on the comical.

As we all know, sometimes Shakespeare can be hard to appreciate in cold script form so we produced our authentic graphic novels to work in classrooms to show students and the most reluctant readers that studying Shakespeare doesn’t have to be “boring”.

The graphic novel format allows students to immerse themselves quickly into the story. They are able to see the emotion of the speech in the characters and watch the story unfold like a play.

There is a choice of three language options: Original Text (original, unabridged Shakespeare), Plain Text (plain modern English) or Quick Text (reduced dialogue) – all using the same full colour artwork giving you a classroom of pupils, of any ability, effectively reading from the ‘same’ page.

Each book also includes a dramatic personæ as well as additional information about the play and The Bard. 📖🎭😍

Yes it's Wednesday again and if that means you're dreading your English class because you're reading boring old Shakespeare then maybe you should take a look at our unabridged graphic novels of his plays.

The unabridged version can be used on its own or alongside the cold script form.
Plus there are two other choices: a plain English translation and a reduced dialogue version.
All use authentic settings and the graphic novel format makes it easier to follow the story.
