BRION GYSIN "JUNK" 🔥🔥

Wewantsounds is delighted to reissue 's cult avant funk album produced in Paris by Ramuntcho Matta in the early 80's.

The hugely influential Brion Gysin who, with his friend , was revered by the likes of David Bowie, Brian Jones, Laurie Anderson, Genesis P-Orridge, is accompanied here by Matta and French post punk stalwarts on bass (from the group Modern Guy) and Fred Cousseau on drums (from Su***de Romeo) plus special guests including , , , and Senegalese drummer Prosper Niang ( ).

This is the first time the album is reissued on vinyl, augmented with bonus tracks and a new introduction by Gysin scholar Jason Weiss.

AKIKO YANO "TO KI ME KI" (1978)

Akiko's third studio album 'To Ki Me Ki', recorded in New York and originally issued in 1978 in Japan follows her cult "Iroha Ni Konpeitou" LP and retains a similar blend of Japanese pop and New York funk.

"To Ki Me Ki" features such musicians as Rick Marotta, Will Lee and David Spinozza and also programmer Hideki Matsutake who would soon join the YMO with Akiko for their international 1979/1980 tour before she recorded her next studio album "Tadaima" that year, featuring the YMO musicians.

The albums is reissued outside of Japan for the first time, remastered in Tokyo by revered engineer Mitsuo Koike and featuring original artwork by Tsutomu Murakami with 4 page colour insert and new liner notes by Paul Bowler.

Luther Thomas/Human Arts Ensemble cult private press out of the BAG galaxy featuring Joe Bowie, Charles Bobo Shaw, Floyd LeFlore plus Lester Bowie from the AACM. Recorded live in 1973 at The Berea Presbyterian Church in St. Louis, the album consists of two tracks, the formidable, aptly titled "Funky Donkey" and the spiritual "Una New York."

The TOUCH set curated from the vaults includes works with singers Nanako Sato, Hatsumi Shibata and Ken Tanaka alongside tracks from his cult anime soundtracks for "Lupin III" and "Captain Future."
