In my pursuit of organizing my physical music collection, I've stumbled upon some incredibly awesome CD-Rs that have preserved some long lost local music. Most recently, I found some Aberdien songs I'd been eager to unearth for ages. Two of these three songs were recorded months after Aberdien disbanded and signal the beginning of the reformation. Track 2 was previously released on their split with Supergiant MD and is arguably their most recognizable song from their pop punk era.

Who is Mike Toohey? He created the Bob Rec logo, he did the layout on nearly all Bob Rec releases, he played in my bands The Spotlight and The Friday Night Boys, he played in one of my favorite bands, Brett, he played in another one of my favorite bands, Furniteur, he played in another one of my favorite bands, Plan Nine USA, he created some of my favorite songs in his previous solo project, Dulio, and he's also the funniest person on the planet. And my best friend.

Lou Ottens, inventor of the cassette tape, passed away yesterday at 94. Thanks for providing my earliest memories of physical music. A format I, and so many others, still adore to this day. Let's keep 'em goin'!

Greetings, all! While Bob Records has largely pivoted to a digital archive of music long ago lost to the Internet, I still strive to release fresh tunes from close friends. People in Cars, as all on here know, is the inaugural Bob Rec musical group. This project has seen numerous iterations and stylings -- from carefully created instrumental songs, to standout space rock pop, to entirely improvised jams. Proud to welcome yet another iteration: electronic, shred, chill, atmospheric...whatever, just listen!

I had to pry this release out of Etay Pisano who is the sole creator on this album (with a sprinkle here and there from friends). He hesitated with releasing this under the People in Cars moniker, but I explained that my DistroKid account had a finite number of artists on it (PiC being one) and an infinite number of releases possible for each artist. He complied and now we have "Places" the latest album from PiC. Up on Bandcamp for pay-what-you-want and hitting all digital outlets within the week.
