The Beat Ju**ies is a Hip-Hop crew specializing in turntablism, it was established in 1992 by J. Rocc. The other members Curse, DJ Rhettmatic, Melo-D, Icy Ice, Symphony, & What?!. Shortkut, D-Styles, Havik, and Tommy Gun joined in late 1992. DJ Babu joined the Ju**ies by late 1993, and Mr. Choc was added to the crew in early 1996.
From 1997 to 2004 the crew released 8 albums, featuring countless impressive acts, with notable albums such as "The World Famous Beat Ju**ies Volume 1" (1997), "The World Famous Beat Ju**ies Volume 2" (1998), and "Classic Material Volume One" (2001), showcasing their commitment to the art of turntablism and Hip-Hop culture.
Throughout their history, The Beat Ju**ies have been victorious in prestigious DJ battles and competitions like the DMC, the Supermen, and International Turntablists Federation competitions, displaying their turntablism skills on a global scale. Their travels have taken them across the United States, as well as to Japan, Germany, The Netherlands, and Canada, where they have captivated audiences with their performances.
The crew's influence extends beyond their music endeavors. They ventured into clothing with the launch of the Beat Ju**ies clothing line in late 2014. That same year they also expanded their endeavors, establishing a record pool and radio station. In 2015, "Beat Ju**ie Radio" commenced on Dash Radio, curated and hosted by members DJ Babu, Mr. Choc, and Rhetmattic. The live show "Soundcheck" has featured select members of The Beat Ju**ie crew and various musical guests.
In 2017, in celebration of their 25th anniversary, The Beat Ju**ies inaugurated the Beat Ju**ie Institute of Sound, offering DJ courses, workshops, private instruction, and a community for aspiring DJs in Glendale, California. Their teaching philosophy emphasizes the discipline, fine art, and passion of DJing, emphasizing the mechanics, techniques, and history that one must master to earn the title of DJ.
The Beat Ju**ies have left an indelible mark on Hip-Hop culture, blending their turntablism skills with entrepreneurial ventures and educational initiatives, solidifying their place in Hip-Hop history.
