If you’re sick of Boxing Day shopping and you want to take a break from the city, a quick visit to Nose Hill Park offers great views and a quick refresh in nature.

Nose Hill Park is the 4th largest urban mark in Canada. Originally slated to become a residential development, a small group of Calgarians lobbied the city to protect the area. They were successful, and in the 1980s Nose Hill Park was created.

I never really got the name ‘Nose Hill’ until I flew over it for the first time, and then it made sense. From above, it sure does look like a nose!
