Last summer we rekindled on sea with the sun and the moon. Our son Miguel was'nt doing well on school last year. We wished for him to continue to learn about himself and his discoveries so we went to sea. He learned on the boat to move according to constant changing conditions and in the morning, pooing while swimming, that fish will eat it immediate, he mastered anchoring in the dark on sea and about a system around him that's constantly communicating something.

Seeing children growing up is an ever changing process to keep course and adapt along the way. Eye contact, holding hands, sailing, boat life, anchoring, docking in Hercules Monaco in the middle of the night, learning to dive, romping on a sup, problem solving, working together while moving forward. Caring simply arrives in peace. Blessed for all that is given. 🌞

One of my favourite brands to work with. Would'nt mind this to grow deeper. Its a brand that creates top of the top bespoke outerwear that lasts forever and looks ACE. Two English Brothers into cycling created it, called from the saying, to go in and give it all.

They like my personality as good brands do so I can bring my spirit in. One day, we'll do a talk with them in my special A-frame house in South Africa on film. In an area where freediving, big wave surfing, breathing between two oceans and mostly learning our species, attempting apparent gaps between superior ideology thinking and the mechanism of the working poor creates extremely interesting food for thought and growth.

Keep learning, go in fearless, go vollebak.

Straight from heaven. I had no idea what impact images could have until I met Erwin Olaf. Here I am transformed to Koning Ludwig von Beieren II for the series Royal Blood in 2000.

I was discovered in Sao Paulo as a young photo model and sent to NYC straight from there to start an uncertain path. I almost did not choose this, it just happened to me. I was and am still in awe about people that push crafts to bespoke stages, as stand alone so everyone can see it. My inner imaginative world has found a creative stage as I was living in two worlds, one where I had to obey and fit in and one where my imagination could sprout to limitless freedom imagining.

Photography became a portal or an attempt for feelings and ideas to capture, so we can reflect and talk about it, prove things or push mediocrity to emancipate.

Erwin was known to me as a giving human being that brought people together. Photography can free up the mind. R.I.P.

Here, in this first image, what do you see?

I am from the Netherlands. And through covid, while i got stuck here with my family, I bought a house. As I believe in trying to achieve in a holistic environment, creating pleasant aesthetics, I received inspiration. I am a photographer and built a photo studio in Kommetjie. Over the next 10 years I will work on making a photo book, alligning all the groups that live in SA, relating to a specific soil, represented by woman. A photo book that explores, who is South Africa, what feeds South Africa and where do we, children come from.
