In 2019, Smoke DZA and Curren$y finally linked for a full-length release, entitled Prestige Worldwide. The two longtime collaborators bring out the best in each other on the acclaimed collection, with inspired rhymes and trunk-ratting beats reverberating from Harlem to New Orleans. Featuring appearances by Styles P and Dave East, Prestige Worldwide is now receiving a new vinyl release via GoodTalk and Nature Sounds after years out of print.

Finding genuine chemistry over Pete’s raw instrumentation, DZA and Benny deliver a cohesive exploration of Empire State street life on this memorable collection, which features appearances by Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine, and Styles P. To celebrate its 5th anniversary, Statue Of Limitations is back on vinyl for the first time in years, complete with the previously unavailable Pete Rock instrumentals. With a standard black pressing soon hitting stores worldwide, a limited-edition liberty green colored vinyl variant is now available exclusively from Nature Sounds while supplies last.

Sourcing samples only from Chinese records, Preservation constructed a singular experience with Eastern Medicine, Western Illness. Echoing this thematic focus, an “Eastern OBI Edition” was recently produced for the China retail market in partnership with , featuring a gatefold jacket and OBI strip. We were able to secure a few boxes of this edition for sale in our store. While supplies last, this set is also available with “An Extra Dose”, a rare bonus 7” not available since the album’s initial release. Repackaged in a new screen printed jacket, the 7” features three exclusive tracks from the Eastern Medicine, Western Illness sessions. Showcasing some of the best hip-hop talent from the West over sounds from the East, this acclaimed collection blends cultures and styles to create a potent musical elixir.

By the time his 2008 solo debut The Preface was released, Elzhi was already recognized as one of hip-hop’s most gifted lyricists. The Detroit emcee was still a member of Slum Village at the time, having replaced hip-hop icon J Dilla in the legendary group earlier that decade. The Preface showcases Elzhi’s undeniable talent and impressive creative flair, foreshadowing the exciting solo career that would follow. With a young Black Milk supplying pounding, drum-heavy production on 13 of the album’s 16 tracks, Elzhi’s dense verses electrify the mic, announcing the arrival of a truly special artist. Whether riffing on color-themed wordplay, playing a lyrical game of “fill in the blank”, taking listeners on a dream logic adventure, telling his personal story, or simply showing off his scorching rhyme skills, Elzhi’s flawless flows animate the highly conceptual collection. Defying convention and transcending interpretation, Mach-Hommy is a true original.  Though he’s mostly content to dwell in the shadows, Mach knows exactly when to emerge and make his presence felt.  On his new album , Mach not only confronts the ills that have long afflicted his homeland, but empowers any entity in confrontation with existing power paradigms.
