All hospitality establishments need to be environmentally compliant
The Hon’ble National Green Tribunal (NGT) on a plea of Prasoon Pant and Pradeep Dahalyia has recently given directions for compliance of environmental norms by all hotels, malls, banquet halls and restaurants in Ghaziabad district in 3 month's time. Environmental Compensation has been imposed on many such establishments. The matter in NGT pertained to non-compliant behaviour in respect of controlling pollution, of big hotels, malls, marriage halls & restaurants in Ghaziabad and UP. The UPPCB is supposed to make a survey and bring all such establishments under compliance with environmental laws, such as waste management, groundwater compliance and regulating their discharge, as these establishments see a high footfall.
