Double Dash Motorsport Media is run by Andrew Mather and Howard Mitchell. Two guys who came together over the mutual interest in being motorsport nerds. Whether it is Formula 1, Le Mans, BTCC, MotoGP, even tractor pulling, at some point we’ve probably discussed it. DDMM can trace it’s origins back to the University of Birmingham Motor Racing Club of which Howard is a former club president and medi

a officer. Both of us raced in the British Universities Karting Championships and now continue to race in Club100 Racing Championships across England and Wales. Both of us had our own interests in commentary and media coverage of motorsport events, Howard also being the UBMRC’s media officer for one year and Andrew first commentating from the side of the track for Birmingham at BUKC Qualifiers in November 2014. This then led to Andrew commentating on that season’s finals in April 2015 for the BUKC and the first streamed broadcast to the world. Andrew carried on to commentate the majority of the following BUKC season, before Howard joined in the comms box for the 2016 Finals for what was three whole days of commentary! A thrilling weekend saw the first tandem commentary between Andrew and Howard, the first commentary with live video stream for the BUKC and almost 16 hours of commentary over 3 days to call a thrilling end to a fantastic set of championships. Since that weekend, we have continued to commentate every Mains Championship round and more for the BUKC. We have also commentated, either together or individually, for Whilton Mill Kart Club, the Northampton Karting League, Formula Student at Silverstone, Daytona DMax, Shenington Super Prix and more. As we both still race in karts alongside our commentary work, we know how much fun motorsport is but also how much each race can mean individually to a driver, whether they are racing for a win, a podium, a top 10 or simple bettering themselves from previous races. With this in mind, we take every race we commentate on as important as the next one. We know that any race could be any driver’s most important race or their highlight of the racing year. It is our job to call it that way. We are looking for further opportunities to commentate for future motorsport events in 2021.

Welcome to the page for Double Dash Motorsport Media.

Double Dash Motorsport Media is run by Andrew Mather and Howard Mitchell. Two guys who came together over the mutual interest in being motorsport nerds. Whether it is Formula 1, Le Mans, BTCC, MotoGP, even tractor pulling, at some point we've probably discussed it. DDMM tracks it's origins back to the University of Birmingham Motor Racing Club of which Howard is a former president. Both raced in the British University Karting Championships and now continue to race in Club100 Racing Championships across England and Wales, which you will see on this page from time to time, mainly for your own comic needs.. Both Andrew and Howard had their own interests in commentary and media coverage of motorsport events, Howard also being the UBMRC's media officer for one year and Andrew first commentating from the side of the track for Birmingham at BUKC Qualifiers in November 2014. Some reports say this was a way for Andrew to deal with not fully accepting he was no longer a student after 5 long years of engineering study. This then led to Andrew commentating on that season's finals in April 2015 for the BUKC and the first streamed broadcast to the world. Although not called that at the time, ARM Motorsport Media, the first incarnation of DDMM was born. Andrew carried on to commentate the majority of the following BUKC season, bar one meeting due to a slight karting mishap the week before, before Howard joined in the comms box for the 2016 Finals for what was three whole days of commentary! A thrilling weekend saw the first tandem commentary between Andrew and Howard, the first commentary with live video stream for the BUKC and almost 16 hours of commentary over 3 days to call a thrilling end to a fantastic set of championships. Towards the end of 2017 ARM Motorsport Media became Double Dash Motorsport Media. We are looking for further opportunities to commentate for future motorsport events in 2018.
