Hard Rock Cebu Productions
As representatives from hard rock bands GLENMORIL, PALTIK and TREZKEYA we founded Hard Rock Cebu productions this year. The aim of the group is to gather all Cebuano hard rock bands in one group and organize events and promote our own type of music. We knew that there were other productions promoting hard rock music but the bands in these groups mostly just do more cove
rs and less originals. This prompted us to unite because as bands we could not fit in, there was a nagging feeling that something was lacking. That something lacking was a Cebuano production that highlighted original hard rock music. So in a nutshell, we are here because we want Cebu bands under hard rock to write their own music and promote the genre. Then because Hard rock is such a general term the original music coming from the group might be in rock & roll, blues, grunge, instrumental rock, grunge rock, rock ballads, or in classic rock form. The lyrics also may be in Bisaya or English. As individual bands, we never really planned for this. Somehow, the rock gods just aligned the stars for us. We just got lucky that GLENMORIL, PALTIK and TREZKEYA started making hard rock music in the same City and in the same timeline. It was just normal for us to flock together because as bands we had the same objectives –writing original hard rock music. We even feel comfortable that we are only three bands because at this early stage, having only three bands is easy to manage. We also know the risks attached to it. The risk that creating original material is always difficult to introduce compared to cover songs. The risk that hard rock as a genre has passed its prime. We know the risk and together we shall face it. So right now, we are still planning stuff and filling in the details. One of our major plans is to launch the production in a grand way this year.
